This sounds so out of place without the first part. With Periphery's Alpha/Omega and Co&Ca's The Afterman albums I have no problem listening them separately but this just sounds awkward without its previous release. I thought there would be at least a small attempt to make them more individualized and coherent by themselves.

A journey into asceticism. A form of musical expression so monstrously high in artistic merit that
upon first listen changes your perspective and standards of all other art to be measured by Dog
Police. Dog Police, nobody knows who you are and that's such a disservice to the general populace,
all pop culture should derive from Dog Police.
Boy I sure love Gravy Train dog food. I eat it everyday. After eating Gravy Train dog food I go
for a walk and my reward for going on this walk is some delicious Pupperoni.

The mix sounds like a flaccid penis on a cold winter day - limp, compressed, and scared to highlight anything of interest.

Alesana The Emptiness
Exceptionally well-executed Post-Hardcore/Metalcore album with an interesting concept that lends itself well to establishing an awesomely cheesy edgy tone.

A great but exhaustive listen. The record doesn't stray off the template made by the first 4 tracks and is long to boot. Chris Kontos is a beast on the drums, the guitar tone is ecstasy , and the production is some of the best metal has to offer. Its a shame that the record lacks diversity.

While it feels like the definitive SOAD album its also their least interesting offering. Its fun, quirky, and at times beautifully somber but its a bit subdued in those elements comparatively with the rest of their discog. Its also the album that comes to mind when thinking of Rick Rubin's production style - Loud but with adequate instrumental separation and a subtle airiness, but the occasional clipping is still a bit infuriating

Clean Vocalist has a very limited delivery and the Screamed Vocals are improperly done and hurt to listen to, but instrumentally this is great. The guitar tone is super thin and treble heavy and works incredibly well with the fun post-hardcore riffs they are pumping out, the drums are compressed to hell.
Flyleaf Between the Stars
Helloween Helloween EP
In Flames Lunar Strain
While it is interesting and you can clearly the ambition in the music it is still sterile and constipated sounding.

Megadeth Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good!
Motorhead Motörhead

Of Mice and Men Defy
Paramore All We Know Is Falling
This album is such a poor listening experience, its not bad but it plays out badly.
The best songs on the album are the first 3 and the subsequent tracks don't even come close to reaching their level of quality.
There's plenty of unique instrumentation to distinguish the tracks, Hayley William's occasionally slurs her delivery awkwardly but is still a strong vocalist on this effort
Queen Queen
Rain City Drive Beautiful Death
Rhapsody of Fire Legendary Tales
Rhapsody of Fire Power of the Dragonflame
St. Vincent Masseduction
Stolas Living Creatures
The Avalanches Since I Left You
The Faceless Akeldama
More focused than some other Tech Death but still lacking in the songwriting department, you still need a solid foundation for your riffs for them to be effective.
The Word Alive Deceiver
Trivium The Sin and the Sentence
TSTS is a very diverse album but its diverse in the same pop metal cliches and tropes that have been the status quo since 2009, and the band doesn't add any flair or personality to those tropes to make it worth while. It sounds like they're performing these perfectly computer programmed hits they had no hand in creating to me. Sure its executed well but it sounds like Trivium going through the daily grind of a career they've lost passion for.

Lacking in genuineness and personality, though it is solid Trivium's 8th record is ultimately forgettable.
While the production is clear it lacks any sense of distinctiveness. The record is competent but why bother with something lacking so much substance, its Elevator Music: Metal Edition. This record feels hollow and tired.

Asking Alexandria Asking Alexandria
Black Sabbath Never Say Die!
Black Sabbath Technical Ecstasy
Carnifex The Diseased and Poisoned
Emarosa This Is Your Way Out

Lyrically heavy-handed and sonically sterile. Enter Shikari make a boring album that lacks the angst and adolescent charm of their previous work.
Escape the Fate This War Is Ours
Gamma Ray Heading for Tomorrow
Job for a Cowboy Genesis
Panic! at the Disco Pray for the Wicked
the production reminds me of fucking future funk and every track sounds the same
Its pleasant enough noise tho
Papa Roach The Connection
Parkway Drive Horizons
Parkway Drive Reverence
In the intro to "Wishing Wells" when Winston starts screaming "Until Im Done!" why dont the drums sound thunderous and huge? The complete lack of excitement and room on the production here makes it hard for me to properly feel the hype the record is so clearly trying to convey.
Shinedown Us and Them
The Black Dahlia Murder Nightbringers
Where consistency turns formulaic
The production is garbage, Trevor is buried in the mix making it hard to hear any nuance in his vocals. I can't tell if the riffs have gotten less melodic or if the production is just making them sound congested (why not both).
The first TBDM record I won't be coming back to.
The Black Dahlia Murder Unhallowed
The Devil Wears Prada Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord
Trivium Silence in the Snow

I like Maps and Cold Lover. Karen O is the band's saving grace, aside from her interesting performance the rest of the group only offers the most milquetoast of garage rock instrumentation.

Sell Your Soul is a cool song, mostly because Deuce isn't really singing in the song and the lyrics aren't ham-fisted. The rest of the album is Californian White Trash incarnate.
