My favorite Mechanics album. Rick Springfield Rocket Science4.0 excellentEagles On The BorderMy favorite Eagles album. No filler here with the exception of Midnight Flyer. Vocals are well balanced also with Frey and Henley and they harmonize and/or duet on Ol 55 and Good Day in Hell. Mike and the Mechanics Mike & The MechanicsVery under rated Mechanics album. My main problem is there are too many Carrack sung songs vs Young songs and Carrack sings on the better songs IMO. I like both but Young is one of the best vocalists ever in pop-rock music. This was his last record before dying of a heart attack in 2000. Rick Springfield Venus in OverdriveRick Springfield Songs for the End of the World3.0 goodBon Jovi This House Is Not for SaleI like it but the first half is much stronger than the second half. Good pop-rock more in the vein of Bryan Adams or 80s John Mellendcamp. Biggest fault is many songs sound similar and no real stand out track that's a Bon Jovi classic. Eagles Hotel CaliforniaI love the 3 hit songs but the rest to me are just ok or even not very good. Pretty Maids is the worst Joe Walsh Eagles song and Try and Love Again is a mediocre at best Meisner sung song. Too many slow songs and only 8 total songs also makes it weaker to me than On the Border although the 3 hits are all awesome. Also Glenn Frey, my favorite Eagle only sings one song and Henley gets 5. I like Henley but I want more balance. Mike and the Mechanics Beggar on a Beach of GoldMike and the Mechanics Word of MouthI like this album especially the title track and Get Up but there are a few too many slow songs and Carrack has 6 songs to Youngs 4 which should have been reversed IMO. Still pretty decent record. 2.5 averageMike and the Mechanics The RoadJust ok. The new vocalists are pretty good, not Carrack and Young but decent. Tim Howar does the Young songs live and Andrew Roachford does the Carrack songs and this record had a third vocalist also. Problem is the quality of the songs. Too many slow to mid-tempo type songs and just no "oomph" to them at all. Way too laid back IMO. 1.5 very poorMike and the Mechanics RewiredBy far the worst Mechanics record. Not many songs, the quality is weak and no Paul Young. Does not sound like a Mechanics record. Sounds like an experimental album.
