good thrash in terms of 2017. fallen brother is most memorable. as a sceptic of thrash metal's general direction I would say that thrash hardly gets any better.

The album is ruined by the crappy sound quality. It sounds like demo tape. Without the female vocals it would have been a total failure. Kirouksen kantaja really stands out.
Paradise Lost Medusa
Riverside Love, Fear and the Time Machine
Slayer Reign in Blood
The Black Dahlia Murder Nightbringers

Ulcerate Shrines of Paralysis
I really don't get it. I play 10 to 15 metal albums each day, different genres, everything, and so for years. Some I like more, some less. Obviously. This thing is just unapproachable. Seems like it's soundtrack to something. But I can't figure out to what.
Vektor Terminal Redux
Technical progressive thrash. Superb craftsmanship. But not nearly enough music. I mean - why black metal vocals?

1.5 very poor
Cradle of Filth Hammer of the Witches
Crowbar Crowbar
Crowbar Equilibrium
Entombed Uprising
Entombed Same Difference
Ereb Altor Ulfven
Megadeth Super Collider
Monolord Rust
Pillorian Obsidian Arc
Superjoint Caught Up in the Gears of Application

1.0 awful
Metallica St. Anger
Oasis (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
Scum (FIN) Garden of Shadows
The Devil Wears Prada Transit Blues
Compare it to blues without solos. Or opera without arias.
