Their sound is beginning to really resemble some of the benchmark bands in the genre. While the entire album is magnificent, it is the 3 part track Glow which really propels this band to new heights. This piece of music in particular borrows elements from the best work of Opeth, Ne Obliviscaris and Insomnium to create a really satisfying and sonically accomplished track. I would (at a minimum) encourage any fans of Melodeath to listen to this 3 part track. It is so good I would have been happy with this 3 part as an EP alone. An exciting future awaits this band.Currents The Place I Feel SafestFallujah DreamlessFallujah EmpyreanFit for an Autopsy Oh What the Future HoldsOrbit Culture NijaRivers of Nihil The WorkLike others have positively stated above, subsequent listens to this have made me really love what they've done here. Sure, if you listen to it expecting it to be another WOKMN then you may be disappointed. The Work however is a conceptually brilliant piece of progressive music, where the band has aimed for and successfully pulled off a more atmospheric body of music that sounds much better when listened to in its entirety from start to finish. The songs on their own can seem a little hollow, but in context they all flow beautifully into each other with seamless transition. I fell the album perfectly encapsulates the concept it is aiming for, which is to highlight the grind of life and how it ebbs and flows. This can be felt through the highs and lows of the tracks, where it switches between heaviness and weightlessness but continues to emphasise that in life work is required to thrive and grow despite it ultimately wearing you down. The band has not betrayed their signature style with this release, but rather expanded it. It needs time to grow on you, but once I got my head around it I have absolutely loved it. Most of the songs alone are good, some have the ingredients to be epic tracks but fizzle or don't build up to where they could. I feel like Trivium have always had the ability to make an all time classic record but have stuck too closely with generic choruses and structures. That being said, a welcome return to heaviness for the band and good to hear Heafy fire up again on the mic. The Wretchedness Inside and Thrown Into The Fire are ripping tracks.3.5 greatArchitects For Those That Wish to ExistParkway Drive Reverence2.5 averageFallujah Undying Light1.5 very poorBring Me The Horizon POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR1.0 awfulKanye West Donda
