This was the first band that I listened to that had a sound like this, so this album blew me away. I love the song structures, and how the band understands that music is more than just notes. Their music has dynamics. Most tracks have an increasing intensity that climaxes at the chorus that just floors me every time.Spyro Gyra Catching the SunThank You Scientist Stranger Heads PrevailTurnover Peripheral VisionYvette Young AcousticsI love the "rawness" of the album. Its like reading a diary. You are being exposed to strong emotion fed through lyrical storytelling and technical guitar play. Great for intensive listeners.3.5 greatErebos (POL) The Light in My DarknessThank You Scientist The Perils of Time TravelThe Caretaker An Empty Bliss Beyond This WorldTurnover Humblest PleasuresVARSITY VARSITYVARSITY Parrallel PersonVolumes ViaPretty good stuff. Better vocals and the mixing seems to have more punch where is counts. The vocalists layer so well together. This definitely my favorite album. Some tracks had me thinking, "well that sounds pretty." While there is some repetitiveness to the album, this band makes me feel like no other djent-y band does.3.0 goodBorn of Osiris Tomorrow We Die AliveGrandkids TimeshareThe Dialectic We Are ObscurityTurnover Good NatureVolumes The Concept of Dreaming1.5 very poorRose Funeral Crucify.Kill.RotI couldn't even finish the album. I don't know if it was poor mixing or a drum machine, but the rhythm section sounds like trash. The title track probably gave me cancer.
