The Arcana Tomorrow is Yesterday
Found this album at CD Baby. I liked the look of the cover and tried some sample tracks. It's the best thing I've heard in years. Tunes are all really superb. There is a mix of styles - from Hendrix to The Beatles, but the songs are all unique and the melodies are pretty amazing.

I think that this is their first album so I will certainly be looking out for more. I managed to contact the band via their website https://thearcana.wordpress.com/ and I found out that there will be another album released soon.

I also found their single (Ghostwriter) on Youtube - I like the quirkiness of the video and the song is also on The Arcana's album. The Arcana are signed to DSO Records.

My favourite tracks are: Ghostwriter, Despair, Flying High, Tomorrow is Yesterday and Looking Out For You, although it is hard to choose an absolute favourite. The song Tomorrow is Yesterday is really trippy - not really sure what the influence was but it has a lot of everything in it: Hendrix, Beatles, RHCP... the works.
The Arcana Mesmer Theatre
Finally an album with real music has emerged in 2020. I'm so sick of having crap like grime and gangsta rap shoved down my throat I'd almost given up hope that someone would release an album where you can just listen and allow you mind to float away. There's so much good stuff on this album that it's difficult to know where to begin. Certainly Sweet Deity is a fantastic song to open with great guitar end bit, but I particularly like the ballads like Sunshine Brightly, Hotel Reveal and If I Find Myself. There are some great thought provoking lyrics in these tracks, some of which I find personally poignant. But Certainly the real stand out tracks for me are Somewhere In Nowhere, Coming In The Motion and Wishes Last Forever. The way the band has mixed classical instruments with electric guitars and drums is totally cool. I can't really think of anything to compare this with, but maybe that's a good thing.

4.5 superb
