| I give it a 3 for the same reasons zaruyache did. I like the songs a lot, the production kills this album for me though. The guitars used to be thick, fuzzy, and dripping with atmosphere that dominates WITTRs sound. On Thrice Woven they are weak, flat, and boring. This often kills awesome leads (such as right after the interlude on 'The Old Ones Are With Us') that would normally sound so much more epic. The drums went from sounding organic and ritualistic to very mechanical and boring. This is all very weird to me considering the same people who mixed their previous work mixed this one too.rThe stand out songs for me are the 'The Old Ones Are With Us' and 'Fires Roar In The Palace Of The Moon'. This album could have been great. Hopefully they do a remaster or a re-recording of it if enough people criticize the production >. |
