Ignition and Detonation are probably the best two song opener of any of their albums and even the Motley Crue-esque Anthem is a really fun song. The cringeworthy This World Can't Tear Us Apart is the major low point and there are sprinklings of mediocrity here and there but the high points (like Tread the Floods and the aforementioned openenig duo) are really superb and shouldn't be simply dismissed by mindless group think. Heafy's vox are a concern on this record to be sure but he has gotten much better since 2006. Everything else on The Crusade is typical Trivium: Tight, melodic, riffy, and heavy. Beau lieu and Heafy's remain among the most talented guitar duos around today and Travis was fantastic as usual (they are really missing him these days). Definitely warrants a 3.5 rating.3.0 goodTrivium Silence in the SnowGood Trivium album that is a big departure for the band but still enjoyable. Not Shogun or Ascendancy but worth a listen.
