5.0 classic
$uicideboy$ I Want To Die In New Orleans
Beach House 7
Beach House somehow came up with a proper, if not more expansive and diverse album since the landmark "Bloom". I honestly adore this album, it's easily going to be in my Top 10 this year and I can't wait to see them perform some of this album live in Chicago in August. I adore this band and have been in love with them for years, but to be honest the turning point was seeing them at Pitchfork Music fest back in 2016...it was honestly one of the best live experiences I've ever had.rThis album is gorgeous, textured, beautiful and compelling. It's an absolute must listen for anyone that appreciates beauty and art.
Converge You Fail Me Redux
Personally, I listened to this album religiously when it was released all those years ago, seriously considered myself part of the "Converge Cult", have seen them live almost more than any other band or artist on the planet and to be 100% honest the only thing I'm really noticing as the biggest improvement sonically would be how much meatier and heavy the drumming by Ben sounds this time around. Jacob's vocals sound a tad bit less muddled too, but nothing that is completely different. Also, what's with the bunch of punks on here calling Converge a metalcore band and how this is a metalcore album? Far from it guys, Converge has always been a hardcore band, one of the most defining bands of not only that genre but "extreme" music in general. If anything Converge is a metallic-hardcore band, with noise, drone, doomy and grind tendencies throughout their expansive catalogue, this being one the chuggier releases they've ever put out, but between this and Jane Doe, they were and still are innovators of the scene and musically different(especially) when this album was released in 2004. This album is classic on all levels and it changed my understanding of what music can be, regardless of this re-release or not.
Daughters You Won't Get What You Want
Death Grips The Money Store
Death Grips No Love Deep Web
Death Grips Bottomless Pit
I've been following Death Grips since The Money Store and let me tell you it's been on hell of a ride. However, this is to me and many others in my circle their most accomplished album to date, it takes every aspect of Death Grips sound, blends them together and with better execution and production than ever before, so far this is my favorite album this year!
Foxing Foxing
Hammock Love in the Void
Simply breath-taking piece of work. Been a fan of their output for about a decade now and this is pure excellence!
Love Is Noise To Live In A Different Way
Manchester Orchestra A Black Mile to the Surface
Rolo Tomassi Time Will Die And Love Will Bury It
Viagra Boys Viagr Aboys
Extremely catchy, weird, funky and LOOSE!rVB is the 2nd coming of The Butthole Surfers and I'm here for it.

4.5 superb
Aesop Rock The Impossible Kid
Birds in Row We Already Lost the World
Brutus (BE) Nest
Converge The Dusk in Us
Death Grips Exmilitary
Death Grips The Powers That B - Part II: Jenny Death
Emma Ruth Rundle Marked for Death
From Indian Lakes Dimly Lit
One of the biggest surprises of the year, I'm blown away by how consistent and beautiful this album is as a whole. A must listen album of 2019 in every sense, it's just so pretty.rYou're cheating yourself by not giving this at least a spin or two.
Hammock Everything and Nothing
HEALTH VOL. 4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR
HEALTH DISCO4 :: Part I
Heilung LIFA
Jessica Pratt Here In the Pitch
Honestly one of the most relaxing and calming albums I've ever listened to her. Her voice is very ethereal and beyond haunting. My only real reason I didn't give this a 5 is I just wish it was much longer.rIt would have been perfect at like 13-15 tracks. She really is wonderful and unique.
letterstoyou Letterstoyou
Very unique and honestly beautiful sounding. I've never described break-downs as "pretty" before this album. It has similarities to 90s Converge and Poison The Well. Bits on The Locust, PG99 and early Norma Jean vibes as well. I hope more notice this release in the hardcore, skramz and post-hardcore world, they're really special. My only real complaint would be the production/style for the vocals, wish they were either louder or somewhat clearer, instrumentation is incredible though.
Missouri Executive Order 44 Salt Sermon
Really unique, hostile and dynamic in all the best ways. There's touches of the band VeinFM and #12 Looks Like You but with a heavy emphasis on skramz.
Phoxjaw Royal Swan
A fantastic blend and evolution of the Hopesfall post-hardcore sound. I love these dudes
Ringo Deathstarr Colour Trip
Ringo Deathstarr Pure Mood
Ringo Deathstarr Ringo Deathstarr [2020]
One of the most amazing bands in any scene right now.
Slipknot We Are Not Your Kind
Thornhill Bodies
Vildhjarta + där sjunger under evighetens granar +
Micro-dosed and gave this a full listen, it was an experience to say the least. It's by far my favorite work they've done.rSuperior to their last album in almost every single way, but I can see the complaints about it being a bit too "riff-salad" at times.rBut there's just no other band that really does what they do, it borders on feeling "alien".rThere's guitars rhythms and tones that I honestly have never heard created by anyone else.rWill def be in my Top 10 this year.

4.0 excellent
AURORA (NOR) A Different Kind of Human - Step 2
"Daydreamer" is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard this year or any recent year in memory. The album is pretty uplifting and beautiful overall, it's striving for greatness but misses the mark just a bit with a few lackluster tracks. However, nothing on this album is "bad" by any means, just some average tracks that pull the album down a peg or two.
Chelsea Wolfe Hiss Spun
clipping. Wriggle
Super interesting mix and production, very down to hear a new full length from these guys. Lyrics are also more off-the-wall than usual which I'm digging.
Danny Brown Atrocity Exhibition
Death Grips Government Plates
Death Grips The Powers That B - Part I: Niggas on the Moon
Every Time I Die Low Teens
Regina Spektor Remember Us To Life
Ringo Deathstarr Gods Dream
Run the Jewels Run the Jewels 3
The National Sleep Well Beast
Zao The Well-Intentioned Virus

3.0 good
Death Grips Interview 2016
Mitski Puberty 2
Interesting indie/folk/grunge kinda vibe...not to be mean but a poorman's St.Vincent "Actor". It just doesn't have as much of a soul like that album did. It seems honest, but not breathtakingly honest. Also, is not memorable in a long lasting way, like a month or two kinda way.

2.0 poor
Young Thug BEAUTIFUL THUGGER GIRLS
I'm not understanding, nor have understood all the love Young Thug gets. Shitty mumble-rap in the vein of Future and other bullshit like that, however the production is semi-interesting though.

1.5 very poor
Deftones Gore
By far the most underwhelming and unmemorable album to date and this is coming from someone that has loved and followed them since Adrenaline and Around The Fur. It's just not unique, interestingly produced or compelling to me in almost any way, shape, or form. What the fuck happened to Deftones after Self-Titled, they stopped doing drugs and well it slowly got brighter and brighter and fell away farther and farther. Seriously, it barely even has memorable lyric or sound on the entire album, by far my biggest let down this year with albums.
