| If you listen to that album as a Deep Purple fan, probably it will be one of the worst nightmares, hearing the singer who once stunned you with Highway Star, Child In Time, Speed King ... singing jazz/fusion songs that it's impossible to headbang on. rBut, if you just put this album on, relax, maybe have a glass of scotch, and just enjoy this jazz rock fusion trip, you will find it as good as you would never expect.rThe title track starts with a promising synth intro, that breaks into pieces as the band hit the song with this odd funky rhythm, that you can't just digest it immediately, but give it a chance, and you'll wake up one morning just singing it.rJust when you think you had enough, this weirdness will roll-up into a smooth bridge and then into a moody groovy guitar solo that fixes your mood for some minutes until it get back to the rhythm and riff that you got used to, fading the song out with. |
