Goddamn, Jesse blows me away with how much his vocals have improved over the years.
Everything that's great about alt rock/post-hardcore is here; strong vocals, strong
instrumentation to back up the vocals, and a tracklist of well-written songs. I'd
honestly prefer Jesse to focus on this project rather than Erra at this point

This is pretty rad, but I'm not loving it as much as the debut. The instrumentation
isn't as technical, and the song structures are much more predictable this time around.
Nevertheless, this album fucking rules, and the vocalist steps it up even more this time
around

Also, wasn't expecting to hear two of my favorite vocalists on one track as features
(Zach Britt of Dream on Dreamer/Young Lions and Jesse Cash of Erra/Ghost Atlas on Joie
De Vivre)

EDIT: This got better and better with each listen, pretty much on par with the debut for

Young Lions combine the aggression of their debut 'Burn' with the atmosphere of sophomore album
'Blue Isla' to dish out the best of both worlds. Zach sounds better than ever before, his voice is
so suited for this genre. Such a phenomenal album, thinking about giving this that mean 5

Outstanding release after such an outstanding debut. Shayley proves once again that he truly was the driving force (and honestly the only talented member) of OMAM. Not only has his vocal melodies grown more diverse, but his screams have improved as well to sound really strong. There are guitar riffs aplenty in this, and although there are no acoustic ballads on this, there are a few more down tempo tracks to quench that thirst. The new drummer keeps up with the original, and the bassist continues to shine as the bass is high in the mix. Phenomenal sophomore release by one of the best voices in the genre

Ice Nine Kills Safe Is Just A Shadow (Re-Recorded)
Re-recording their best album is the best idea they've had in a long time, every track sounds much beefier, but at the slight cost of some lead guitar being quieter than the original recording. Spencer's vocals are once again the best thing about the album

Phenomenal mix of melodic hardcore and metalcore. Excellent harsh vocalist that mixes yells, lows,
and highs very frequently, and the clean vocalist can sing exceptionally well with a good range.
The guitarists switch from breakdown to riff to melodic lines all over this record, and the
drummer has some nice fills here and there. 4.4/5

Solid album. I do wish Marcel screamed more often, and I do miss the more technical
guitar work that was on Loveless, but overall this is a good change in direction for
them. Zach sounds phenomenal as usual

I'm very happy that Don't Lose Your Heart finally made it to an album seeing as it's
easily the best song the band has ever produced, however I wish there were more songs on
here to compensate for it as well as Stay since they were already released

Chad's new screams are a welcome addition, and the guitarist's singing is great for the most part (although they are more dominant than I'd like). It always feels good to hear Kurt's voice again, and with Sergio from Stolas on guitar, rand Joe from ALLB on drums this should be an excellent album. Already like the two rsingles so far, ESPECIALLY Cut Me Under. Hype afrEDIT: Wow this album rules. Superb guitar work all over this thing, drums are technical rand fun, the dreamy atmosphere works wonders, and Kurt sounds so damn good oof. I can rsee this rising in rating over time

After such a long wait, this album didn't disappoint. The new vocalist has an incredibly powerful voice in both his screams and singing; he is a phenomenal replacement for the last vocalist. The guitars are basically what is to be expected from the band, which is by no means a bad thing. Solid release

This isn't as good as their EP, but still pretty solid. The new clean singer can get
a little grating tho, I feel like they overused him and underused the screams which are
fantastic for this type of music

The guitars are still solid, making some sweet technical riffs and melodic leads, as
well as throwing down some solos from time to time

Jesse sounds even better than ever, and JT rrimproved immensely. The guitar work was stellar, and there were a lot of Augment vibes ron rsome of these tracks, particularly Ghost of Nothing, Expiate, and Ultimata. They may rhave rlost the immovable force that was Garrison and his impactful harsh vocals, and they reven rlost the melodic master that was Alan, but Jesse and the gang came back stronger rthan rever after the weak outing that was Drift. Very good album, once again vocalist Ryan Kirby being the highlight of the album. His ferocious bellows and shrieks drive this album from front to back, as well as contributing some very well sung clean vocals on numerous tracks. The guitars, although not as riffy this time around, take a more melodic approach with the lead work, striving for a more atmospheric feeling. Not to worry, there are plenty of riffs on here to satisfy the need. Drums are above average as they always have been, with phenomenal fills and rhythms that act on their own as opposed to just following the guitar lines. Ryan O'Leary's cleans are more tolerable this time around, but still nothing to write home about. Favorite tracks: Dead Memory, Disease, More Than Nameless, Unclaimed Unloved, and Deathgrip. 4.1/5

This was certainly a good surprise after the disappointing singles. It's a much softer album as opposed to the unbound aggression of VxV and Captors, but they pull the sound off well. The cleans are at the forefront of the album, which is by no means a bad thing given how good they are, however it's a shame to hear so little of the screams compared to past releases because of his improvement. However the aggression is not entirely gone; songs like Asleep, Anathema, and The Aftermath sound like they'd be home on VxV. Instrumentally they more so go for the melodic approach as opposed to the punchy power chord-driven riffs of VxV, and it's pulled off quite well (it can get overused at points though, examples being Flickering Flame and War In The Time Of Peace). Highlights include Anathema, The Aftermath, Fountain, Weary Ground, Lowly, Broken Bones, and closer Grave Digger. 3.8/5

Rating could be higher if they played more of a variety of their albums, rather than just TTS and Sempiternal with only one song of There Is A Hell. I would've loved to hear "Don't Go", "Blessed With A Curse", "Fuck", "Crucify Me", "The Sadness Will Never End", "Suicide Season", and if they could've pulled off something from CYB that would've been killer.

You have to sit through 35 minutes of meh to get to the good tracks. First ten tracks sound like they had no idea what sound they wanted to go for, and then they slam you with two really great metalcore tracks. The dude's harsh vox are powerful and vicious, with some killer lows, but MAN are his cleans whiny and generic. If they could've made an album as good as the last two tracks then this could've been one hell of an album. Instead, you get a mediocre one with little hints of potential

3. SEARCHING FOR GLORYr4. ANOTHER YEAR IN THE SHADOWSrThese track titles are hilarious back to back, like maybe you wouldn't be searching for glory and being in the shadows if you didn't alienate older fans that liked the metalcore side of the band. It's pretty obvious that the band lost a lot of their audience since Dark Matter dropped, but Telle is adamant about people enjoying the new sound better even tho 90% of people do not

Pretty awful record. Austin sounds like he's forgotten how to scream, Aaron's cleans are generic and sound bad (but hey, he hasn't sounded good since he was in Jamie's Elsewhere), and the instruments are insanely boring and monotonous. This very easily could've been a Three Days Grace album and I would've believed it
