Slayed at the time and slays even more now.The Devil Wears Prada The ActTrash Boat Crown ShynessAn expertly woven piece of art seamlessly combining catchily-frenetic pop punk and sprinkles of stomping hardcore. Despite the description, this is more Comeback Kid meets Silverstein than it is A Day To Remember. 'Shade' is a punk single for the ages, while 'Nothing New', 'Old Soul' and 'Don't Open Your Eyes' are ear-worms of the highest order. 'Love, Hate, React, Relate' is a perfect finale and album standout. rProbably album of the year for me so far. This is a band fully realising their potential and upping the game for the rest of the genre to match. Don't sleep on it. rFor fans of: Comeback Kid. Silverstein. Rise Against. The Wonder Years. 4.0 excellentAlpha Wolf A Quiet Place to DieA crushing journey through the last 10 years of metalcore trends, meticulously crafted by the genres most underrated rising stars. Huge production quality demands AQPTD be played at maximum volume. If live music still lived the next 12 months would see world domination realistically in Alpha Wolfs reach. Architects Holy HellAugust Burns Red Phantom AnthemBelmont BelmontReally enjoying this record. Feels somewhat fresh but I can't quite fully explain why. Only reason I didn't rate it higher is because I wish they had kept the interlude track an instrumental. The vocals add absolutely nothing to it and bring it down a tad. Otherwise a super fun listen. Bring Me the Horizon AmoChunk! No, Captain Chunk! Gone Are The Good DaysThis is genre defining for easycore in 2021. Seriously catchy and fun pop punk with breakdowns. If you enjoyed the singles you'll love it as a whole. If you didn't then avoid it and let us have our fun with it. Counterparts Nothing Left to LoveDespised Icon BeastI've certainly moved away from this sound over the years, but the nostalgia trip hit me like a freight train in the best possible way. No djenty/nu-metally bullshit here. Straight up 2008 style deathcore. Fun as hell, and sometimes that's all music needs to be. Despised Icon PurgatoryThis was surprisingly fantastic with some really cool moments. Some of the funnest breakdowns outside of Knocked Loose in a long time. Foals What Went DownHands Like Houses DissonantsIn Hearts Wake ArkThis is what I was hoping it would sound like, but never expected it to. Had two listens, and this may just be their best album. rArrow is excellent. LANDMVRKS Lost in the WavesSometimes an album doesn't need to be groundbreaking to be great. It can simply be a super enjoyable listen. This absolutely flies by and doesn't waste a moment. If you are going to make a standard 2021 metalcore record, this is how you should do it. Loathe The Cold SunDon't know why it has taken me so long to check this band out. This is exactly what I wanted to hear. Once You Leave ThemBeen a fan since the beginning. Only had one listen so far and it had some nice moments. Soak Me In Bleach is one of their better songs of the past 5 years.rMy biggest gripe is the production (the drums sound so manufactured). Plus, they released the closing track as a single which I consider a cardinal sin, and on top of that it's probably the worst and most generic song they have ever written. One thing this band does usually do well is the closing track so that was disappointing. 2.5 averageArchitects All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us1.5 very poorBring Me the Horizon Music to Listen to...
