Bring Me The Horizon That's the Spirit
rIf this was a new band coming out with That's The Spirit as their first album, I feel like it'd be a guilty pleasure. Something I'd listen to when I didn't want to listen to something heavy and just chill. My biggest wonder is what are they going to be doing live now? Having slow singalongs to Doomed with their legions of new fans who also listen to 5SOS and McBusted (as they're the other 'rock-pop' bands who might share fans with these now) and then roll into something like Chelsea Smile and scare the crap outta the newbies? I enjoyed the album as it is, but I agree that with Sempiternal gaining them so much respect from people who have always seen them as "MySpace scene queens" that they would take Sempiternal's formula and run with it, adding to it, tweaking it until they became brilliant with it. I'm sure there was enough singalongs to Sempiternal at shows but I feel like to see them live now would be bland.
