Grateful Dead Live/Dead |
Grateful Dead Fillmore West 1969 |
If you are lucky enough to own the complete recordings version of this release, then you know that
this is the dead at the very top of their experimental game. If you have heard live dead, you have
heard some of the highlights of these shows. My advice, listen to the complete shows from 3/1/69
and 2/27/69. You will not be disappointed. It is hard to believe after listening to this high
energy, high tech, electric version of the Dead that within a year they released Workingman's Dead
and American Beauty. It goes to show why many people think of them as the greatest American band
of all time |
Grateful Dead Dick's Picks Volume 22 |
Grateful Dead American Beauty |
Grateful Dead Workingman's Dead |
Grateful Dead Wake Up To Find Out |
One of the great shows in the Deads legacy, primarily due to the guest appearance of Branford Marsailis, who without even a rehearsal steps up and puts a great groove in some of the great dead songs including, the best rendition of Eyes of the world |

fantastic 80's show, yes the eighties get sketchy but if you know where to look around that decade you can find some of the best shows they played, Black Peter is extraordinary here. |
Grateful Dead May 1977 |
Iron Maiden Killers |
The second of 2 studio offering from IM led by Paul Di'anno. This album is much more slickly produced from their debut disc. I really like the Di'anno years. The band has a punk edge to them, but please don't tell Harris I said so, he hates punk. Sadly this is the end of the Di'anno years, but set the stage for world domination. It is great however to hear a band hungry for the big time, with plenty of energy. |
Iron Maiden Iron Maiden |
I love Di,Anno. He gives the songs a punk growl. Yes, I know Dickenson is the shit, however, they have such a cool punky vibe on the Di'Anno material, especially live. The energy on this album is unmatched. |
Iron Maiden Powerslave |
My first true introduction to IM. When your 9 this could be the coolest thing in the world. Just check out the track list, at least 4 complete classics |

Unbelievable, in the first 10 seconds you know why everybody says to check this band out,
how did it take 20 years for this music to come out, stand outs are: Forever My Queen, Walk
In The Blue Light, Star Lady, Lazy Lady, Hurricane, Earth Flight, 20 Buck Spin, Be
Forewarned, and Last Days Here. Which is most of the album, the rest are decent, check it
out you'll love it. |

I find this a great companion to the first release. It is not as consistant as the first, but has
some great tracks, especially on the second disk. The first disc plays as a failed attempt at the
mainstream with a full album, "or so it seems". They have a couple covers and things are toned
down. The second disc however, has much of the same kind of astonishing songs as the first daze,
but a little more poorly recorded |
