Rush Grace Under Pressure Tour
This is an enjoyable snapshot of Rush circa 1984 while touring to support Grace Under Pressure. Has several medleys where Rush seamlessly transition between songs, which I have not heard on other live Rush albums. Overall this is a fun listen of an energetic performance from one of the greatest live bands that exists. Geddy's voice also holds up really well for this particular album.

Rush ABC 1974
Pre-Prog Rush with live renditions of some of their earlier work with a few cover songs. This album is an enjoyable look into the past when Rush sounded much more like they are channeling their inner Led Zeppelin. Listening to this album made me feel like I was transported back to a 70's Cleveland bar listening to some fresh-faced kids from Canada who love to turn up the volume and just play fun music. Much different than listening to the the well-oiled machine that sells out arenas and has become the Rush we know and love today.

Volbeat Live From Beyond Hell/Above Heaven
There were a few instances that I thought the mix was off, and a few too many nods to other bands for my taste, but this was overall an enjoyable energetic performance. The band sounded interested and like they enjoyed playing for the crowd, and the crowd also sounded into it. A fun live album for people who enjoy live albums blasting through their speakers.

I'm a sucker for live albums. Although dated at this point, and a little "kitchy" this album proves to have enough energy to be an enjoyable listen. Or, maybe I reverted back to 15 year old self...

Ty Tabor Rock Garden
Good music with some questionable lyrics. Ty Tabor proves he is a strong songwriter who writes music in the vein of a heavier version of the Beatles. Unfortunately, the absence of Dug and Jerry - his King's X band mates - push this record down from being a classic to just having some good to great songs and some filler.

Dug Pinnick Emotional Animal
Dug writes the music he wants without apology. Unfortunately, this album all starts to run together, despite the attempts at variation. Dug needs collaborators which is why the music of King's X, KXM, Pinnick Gales Pridgen, etc. are usually stellar. Although far from a one trick pony, this album is just missing that little bit of input from other musicians which would have pushed this album from average to great.

Whoever said this band sounds like Sevendust is wrong. Switch "Sevendust" for "Nickelback" and you about have this sound. Move on...move on, people...nothing to see here...
The All-American Rejects When the World Comes Down
The Lemonheads Come On Feel the Lemonheads
It would be a much higher grade if not for all the extra fluff in the album. The CD is too long by itself, and multiple songs should have not made the final cut. Unfortunately the "hidden tracks" after the final song are almost too much to take.
The Rolling Stones Voodoo Lounge
Velvet Revolver Libertad

I've actually liked most of what this band has done - despite the hit and miss nature of their message. This was awful, though. Avoid at all costs.
