5.0 classic
Amorphis Tales From The Thousand Lakes
Dissection Storm of the Light's Bane
Modern Life Is War Witness

4.5 superb
Akhlys The Dreaming I
Lychgate An Antidote for the Glass Pill
Paysage d'Hiver Winterkälte
Protest the Hero Fortress
Veld Daemonic: The Art Of Dantalian

4.0 excellent
Ad Nauseam Nihil Quam Vacuitas Ordinatum Est
All That Remains The Fall of Ideals
August Burns Red Constellations
As far as metalcore goes, this is a classic album in the genre.
Carnifex Slow Death
City of Caterpillar Driving Spain Up A Wall
Crowhurst Crowhurst
Deafheaven New Bermuda
Dodheimsgard A Umbra Omega
Downfall of Nur Umbras de Barbagia
After a few jams it sounds a bit cheesy. Easily one of the best albums in this genre though.
Kvelertak Nattesferd
Mamaleek Via Dolorosa
This is what happened when Tom Waits met Portishead and they decided to make trve elevator music.
Predatory Light Predatory Light
Serpentine Dominion Serpentine Dominion
Seth Les Blessures De l'Ame
This album is an overlooked melodic black metal classic. Dimmu Borgir and Emperor fans will love
this although the keyboards are a bit toned down compared to those bands. Above all, the music is
unbelievably fast.
Shape of Despair Monotony Fields
Stargazer (AUS) A Great Work of Ages
The World Is a Beautiful Place... Whenever, If Ever
The World Is a Beautiful Place... Harmlessness
Titus Andronicus The Most Lamentable Tragedy
Totem Skin Weltschmerz
Touche Amore Stage Four
Ulcerate Shrines of Paralysis

3.5 great
A Forest of Stars Beware the Sword You Cannot See
ABRA Princess
Dark Funeral Angelus Exuro pro Eternus
I, Valiance The Reject of Humanity
What an eargasm, God's mouth is pure sonic terror. Frantic and nasty.
Outlier Sleep Patterns
S.P.Y What The Future Holds
S.P.Y Back To Basics Chapter One
S.p.y. is probably one of the best 'classical' dnb producers in 2014. This album has soaring
basslines and beautiful beats although I don't care much for the synths and the female vocals.
Schammasch Triangle
Slugdge Dim and Slimeridden Kingdoms
Temple of Baal Mysterium
The Body and Thou You, Whom I Have Always Hated
Vhol Deeper than Sky
Wolves in the Throne Room Thrice Woven

3.0 good
August Burns Red Rescue & Restore
August Burns Red Found in Far Away Places
I still prefer Constellations but this is pretty good as well.
Batushka Litourgiya
Be'lakor Vessels
Between the Buried and Me Coma Ecliptic
Bosse-de-Nage All Fours
Grimoire L'Aorasie des Spectres Rêveurs
Midnight Odyssey Shards of Silver Fade
Nightbringer Terra Damnata
Skeletonwitch Devouring Radiant Light
So Hideous Laurestine
VI De Praestigiis Angelorum
For the cvlt crowd. Old school, thrashy and solid.
Wiegedood De Doden Hebben Het Goed
Quite solid but I don't really enjoy the production (a bit more fuzziness would be nice) and some parts feel 'too slow'.

2.5 average
Abigail Williams The Accuser
Architects All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us
Bad Omens Bad Omens
Coldworld Autumn
Der Weg Einer Freiheit Stellar
Crispy production by BM "standards", vocals are a bit meh. It all sounds nice enough but fails to
make a lasting impact.
Fuath I
Liturgy Aesthethica
Helix skull, Glory bronze and Veins of god are actually quite nice. I also like the way the drums trail behind te guitars.
Ne Obliviscaris Citadel
Vanum Realm of Sacrifice

2.0 poor
Panopticon Roads to the North

1.5 very poor
Mesarthim Isolate
