Wow, what a great album! It so effortlessly transcends genres, refusing to be bound by notions of what a pop artist "should" sound like. I think it's a criminally underappreciated album, the whole time listening I kept thinking "I'm listening to something historically good!"

Big Blood Big Blood and The Bleedin' Hearts
Something occult lurks in the distance, groups of dancing mystics performing ancient rituals, strange and unsettling but in its own way beautiful. This is the scenery that fills the world of Big Blood & The Bleedin' Hearts. I'm reminded ]so much of The Dance of the Sun And The Moon by Natural Snow Buildings, who I adore. Great cuts include "Graceless Lady" and "The Birds and The Herds".
Big Blood First Aid Kit
I really enjoyed Bleedin' Hearts, but that sound taken to a more familiar and accessible format, for me, was the missing piece. 1000 Times is an anthem, In My Head and Haunted have a sound that is so uniquely Big Blood, but I could show it to my dad. It is the gateway drug for a wonderful world of music!

When I listened to this album, I thought "wow this sounds like El-P from Run The Jewels". And it turns out it is El-P, and I'm a fool who does not research albums before listening to it. "Iron Galaxy" is most people's favorite track for good reason, tracks like "Pigeon" and "Atom" showcase the talent that would go on to make RTJ the group all of us love.

clipping. Visions of Bodies Being Burned
The soundtrack of your sleep paralysis demon, this album is a full-out assault on the senses that you just can't wake up from. The transition form Wytchboard (Interlude) into `96 Neve Campbell is so chillingly evocative of those creepy horror movies, you feel like the pounding is on your own door. Other tracks like Eaten Alive cause more auditory pain than pleasure, but on balance clipping. delivers another outstanding work.

Cornelius Fantasma
Overall, this album has a lively, colourful feel to it that just makes me want to keep playing it over and over again. While incredibly varied, I never once had the feeling that Cornelius doesn't know exactly what they're doing with this record. It adeptly blends Shibuyakei and J-Rock with all forms of Electronic music, and this unexpected combination results in a wonderful album that I enjoyed immensely.

One of the truly essential metal albums, it's a release that makes you scratch your head for its relative obscurity. Melodic, harmonic, and deeply evocative, it stands right up there with Tool, Dream Theater, or any other "mainstream" prog metal release.

There's very few moments I don't enjoy on this album. The prolonged silence in We Both Know It's True still confuses me and unhelpfully disrupts the otherwise great song, but otherwise I think this is a dynamic, rhythmic, wonderful release. Other great cuts are "Dogs" and "Nareeiaal".

Against Me! Shape Shift With Me
Against Me! Searching for a Former Clarity
Any day I'm listening to Against Me! is a good day. "Miami", "How Low" and "Unprotected Sex With Multiple Partners" are, in my unpopular opinion, an improvement from As The Eternal Cowboy, and it's the AM! you know and love. The self-titled track that ends the album also is an incisive look into where Laura's head was when she wrote it, and I continue to find her an inspiring figure, and one of the great punk rockers of our time. There's not many who'd call this their best album, but it's still a great release by the band so many of us know and love.

I heard "Just Wanna Go To Bed" and I thought, wow, this reminds me a lot of The Strokes, I wonder if they're a big influence. Then the cover of "Last Nite" started playing. I have to say, a really enjoyable album, about half of it I've got on repeat, and I'm very interested in revisiting Boy Jr. in future releases.

Songs like "Look of Love" remind me most of Painted Shut, which is great because I loved Painted Shut. Otherwise, this album moves in a more mainstream, higher-production direction that's good but less to my own personal taste. "One That Suits Me" and "Not Able" also great cuts, I love this band!

Lil Nas X Montero
Lil Nas X has defied every expectation the industry had of him, from being written off as a one-hit-wonder to pulling Doja Cat, Megan, Miley, Jack Harlow, and oh yeah ELTON JOHN into a real hit of an album. I'm so happy this release was so good!
Lil Ugly Mane Volcanic Bird Enemy and the Voiced Concern
Little Green Cars Absolute Zero
Hey this album has a decent amount of range, even if it comes off feeling a little like a folk-emo Walk The Moon, best cuts are "Angel Owl", "Red and Blue" and "Them", the ending is solid as well.

Margot MacDonald Canvas
Torn was the unfinished product, in Canvas Margot MacDonald triumphs in her talents as a singer/songwriter to make a soft, wholesome, beautifully simple series of songs that capture the imagination. As her own backup she expertly frames songs like "Pretty Little Cage" and "Beautiful Strangers". In my review of Torn I referenced her cover of Teardrop, and it does not disappoint here as the album closer. It's a genuine shame she dropped off the face of the Earth after this release, and hopefully this absence is temporary and we'll be hearing even more of her beautiful voice in the not-too-distant future.

Perhaps Doja Cat's destiny is to be a much-beloved feature artist, her verse on the Lil Nas X album brought me here but I was left wanting in the face of an album that was heavily filler and didn't bring the same energy and consistency of Hot Pink. But she's still coming into her own and she's got real talent, I'm staying tuned.

Half Alive Give Me Your Shoulders, Pt. 1
I miss the half?alive that made Still Feel, this new album has some nice moments in What's Wrong or Make of It but towards the end you can't help but hear a beige tone that reminds the listener of Coldplay, and not at their best. Hope to god this is just a direction, and if we see a Give Me Your Shoulders, Pt. 2 it'll be back to the sound that blew this band up.

James Morrison is one of those uniquely gifted jazz musicians, famous for playing 2, even 3 notes at once on the trombone. "Autumn Leaves" alone is justification enough for the album, but altogether the rest of it is just a little too restrained for my liking.

Margot MacDonald Torn
Margot MacDonald's cover of "Teardrop" by Massive Attack is masterful, you see that same great musicianship in "Falling Star" off of this earlier release. But it begs the question, what happened with the rest of the album? Her genuinely talented vocals feels totally overshadowed by the generic alt-rock that defined the 2000's, and it's a shame when she's so gifted.

The music's great but the lyrics are so heavy-handed and overwrought that this album may as well been written by Banksy. Pretend he's singing in Simlish and this is a respectable release.

God this album just bothers me so much, all the joy and warmth of the compositions is sucked out by their distortion, you just inherently understand something wicked this way comes. Sonically, it's not especially impressive at this part, but the work evolves dramatically and I'm staying tuned in my anticipation.

This was a just-okay album, I know it's not their best but "Message of Mother" and "Pink Bag for Rip Torn" are personal highlights. Also, it's a *very* cool vinyl, and I'm a small child enamored by pretty colors, so that's a plus.

It's a lot like Death Grips. However, I think it was more abrasive and inconsistent vocally, and I didn't care for the samples Mykki used. Where DG's sampling really fit and worked with their music, I don't feel like this album really meshed the way it could've.

It's too long! It's just too long of an album, for what it is. The appeal this album is completely lost on my unwashed, normie sensibility. I feel like I'm just listening to a Harry Potter villain yell at me for 4 hours. If this is music for intellectuals, I will take pride in declaring myself a moron. The first disc has some nice moments regardless, "Cut Up", "Days Of", the dark ambient sections are actually rather nice. But if you can't handle it at its screaming, harsh noise distortion, you don't deserve it at its haunting ambient ineterludes. (It's not worth it.)

This absolutely breaks my heart, I love Kim and I loved Turn Off The Light. But it's not even doing anything with the vulgarity, it's just sex talk over and over and over again. The backing tracks are so boring, what happened?? I hope and pray this is just a bump in the road, I know there's better in Kim than this EP.
