OG lineup goes hard. Love Andy but there is an organic chemistry with this lineup. Heavy and super melodic. You can immediately tell how much love they put into this one. I'm a long time Mors fan and this is a cerifief banger.

Always give 3 playthroughs before I give ratings. As someone who grew up listening to melodeath and was inspired by the Gothenberg bands, I tend to be picky unintentionally. This album is more creative than their debut piece as they draw from a heavier electronic infusion. This doesn't mean that the album is more progressive, it just uses these elements to inspire new melodies. There are times on the album where you don't think you're listening to old In Flames or Dark Tranquillity at all. In summary, this is an extremely solid record that you can blaze through track by track without any skips.

Eluveitie Origins
The element that sets this album apart from previous releases is the showcasing of Eluveitie's
talented guitar work. The addition of Rafael Salzmann at lead guitar has brought the guitars of
the band, from a rhythmic background, to the forefront on some tracks. There is also more
Gothenburg riffing on this album than previous efforts. Don't worry, the folk melodies remain,
although this is hands-down Eluveitie's most aggressive release yet. In conclusion, I give this
album a slight edge over 'Slania', mostly because of it's more hostile approach. On a side note,
the increased usage of Anna Murphy's screams adds a whole new dimension to the band's vocals.
