Primus The Brown Album
I know I'm in a minority, but here me out. It has become very popular to tear this album to pieces, and generally the public interest in Primus dropped almost entirely from this point foward. And what can I say - probably my favorite amongst their albums. So many psychedelic funk moments, where do I begin? The groovy "Golden Boy", "Over the Falls" and "Shake Hands with Beef" that complete an impossible opening sequence, "Kalamazoo ", "Dutches and..." and more. There is a reason that Claypool might be the most influential bassit in the world of rock - second only to his mentor, Geddy Lee of Rush. That reason is written all over this album.

The madness carries on to the second album, where Claypool and his friends take us on a journey of funk mixed with metal, one hell of a trip. Jerry was a race car driver and Tommy the cat are the standoffs for this one, with their brilliant bass-line.

Mixed feelings about this one. Not an easy album to connect with, sure enough. What can you do, Waits is, for better and worse, the defintion of an "odd duck".
Tom Waits Alice
Tom Waits The Heart of Saturday Night
It's not as good as the debut, but you know, that's probably because the debut was perfect. Feels like a one-guy-piano-bar, with one drunken guy on the bar, a smoker, and a guy hanging around in the corner near the jukebox... all are side in Waits' personallity, of course. Worth mentioning are: New Coat of Paint, The great piano ballads Shiver Me Timbers and Drunk on the moon, The great Contra-Bass in Diamonds on my Windshield and the wondeful title track.

Bullocks, This album is boring as hell. I can't find anything special about it, nothing that you can't find in any other bar-singer in the world. Just another dull waits album that came between the superb debut and "Rain Dogs".

For all of you devoted religious metalheads, I say god bless you. For all of you that do have some sense of hearing left to them, here's my two cents: The chance that you will understand a single word from Araya's screaming is low, and the chance that you will bleed from your eardrum before this album runs its course is high. There's not even a shred of melody to this, Which makes it unbearable. (For some reason, it doesn't let me put 1 - Awful, but you get the point).

Tom Waits Franks Wild Years
