| There's definitely improvement. But it feels almost like too little too late. There are some fresher ideas, like the high screams in Broken Lens and the slower tempo of Deserter, but it feels like these things should've been the next step after Portraits rather than 4 records later. The "making of" videos had me expecting a more drastic change. So while there are redeeming moments, I'm left feeling like they over-promised and under-delivered. |
