Dr. Lonnie Smith Move Your Hand
Move Your Hand was recorded live at Club Harlem in Atlantic City on August 9, 1969. Organist Lonnie Smith led a small combo -- featuring guitarist Larry McGee, tenor saxist Rudy Jones, bari saxist Ronnie Cuber, and drummer Sylvester Goshay -- through a set that alternated originals with two pop covers, the Coasters' "Charlie Brown" and Donovan's "Sunshine Superman." Throughout, the band works a relaxed, bluesy, and, above all, funky rhythm; they abandon improvisation and melody for a steady groove, so much that the hooks of the two pop hits aren't recognizable until a few minutes into the track. No one player stands out, but Move Your Hand is thoroughly enjoyable, primarily because the group never lets their momentum sag throughout the session. Though the sound of the record might be somewhat dated, the essential funk of the album remains vital.r-Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Dr. Lonnie Smith Funk Reaction
Groovy and stylish, essential funky jazz. Listen to it When the Night is Right!
Dr. Lonnie Smith Rise up!
This might be my favourite jazz album ever, love every second of it. It's melodic, catchy and virtuoso; Pilgrimage deserves being one Jazz Standard for future generations and the rendition of People Makes The World Go Round is as unexpected as awesome.

Europe 1982–1992
A perfect compilation. Extensive liner notes and photos. Hi quality pressing (barcode 5099747358920). Feels like a deluxe edition including golden ink on logo, gorgeous. Great selection of tracks.
Fauve Blizzard
This album/EP is generation defining, altough fated to remain on french market (even for natives is hard to follow the super fast singing) the audience reaction on a concert shows how much impact the lyrics had on portraying the angst of the 2010's white generation stuck on a social excluding and depressive modern age. It's amazing the spread this group got by breaking all the corporate rules to success.
Fauve Vieux frères partie 2
After the amazing Blizzard, the first LP from Fauve sounded rushed and incomplete. This "Part 2" tough, sounds like the biggest accomplishment from the band yet. With killer tracks, haunting melodies and stronger lyrics. Part 2, altough not much longer than Blizzard EP shows the band can deliver full lenght album with the same strenght and freshness from their debut. I wonder what they will do next...

Dr. Lonnie Smith Turning Point
A stone killer from organist Lonnie Smith, one of his completely cooking early albums for Blue Note, and a hard-burner all the way through! Smith's working here with a really great group that includes Idris Muhammad on drums and Melvin Sparks on guitar, both of whom give the album a really heavy bottom, and almost make the set feel like one of those classic Prestige jammers from the same time. But added to them is a great horn section of Lee Morgan on trumpet, Julian Preister on trombone, and Bennie Maupin on tenor, all of whom give the record a slightly hipper, more modern feel, in keeping with the Blue Note groove of the time. Tracks are all nice and long!r
Dr. Lonnie Smith Think!
Think!, organist Lonnie Smith's 1968 sophomore effort for Blue Note, is easily one of the strongest dates the Hammond B-3 master would produce for the label. Featuring a stellar group of musicians including trumpeter Lee Morgan, tenor saxophonist David Newman, guitarist Melvin Sparks, and drummer Marion Booker, Jr., as well as a three-member Afro-Latin percussion unit led by Henry ?Pucho? Brown, Think! is a perfect mix of funky soul and forward-thinking jazz. Kicking things off with Hugh Masekela's instantly memorable ?Son of Ice Bag,? both Sparks and Newman take searching funk-flow solos while Morgan seems to be remembering a certain Masekela lick he dug. Similarly expansive is the epic and frenetic Afro bliss-out ?The Call of the Wild,? which finds Newman in a heady, bluesy organ jam freak-out set against ?Pucho? Brown?s torrid Latin rhythms and Sparks' nasty repeto-funk guitar riff. By the time you get to the title track and realize ?Oh, it's that ?Think,? all you can do is laugh at the utter hipness of it all and take pleasure in the notion that the album is only half over. [The Rudy Van Gelder Edition of Think! features remastered sound by original producer Van Gelder, significantly improving the overall sound quality over the original release.]rBy Matt Collar (AMG)

Dr. Lonnie Smith Drives
And the organ groove rolls on with this date from Lonnie Smith for Blue Note in 1970. Ever the arbiter of style Lonnie hadn't got to his turban phase at the time of this recording and instead can be seen sporting a rather natty white cap on the cover. The music is very much of the times too with the addition of a couple of hits from the period - "Twenty Five Miles" and "Spinning Wheel" with a Miles Davis cover "Seven Steps to Heaven" a Smith original "Psychedelic Pi" and - guess what? A rocking version of "Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf" which rounds of a great set of 70s funky hammond grooves. Ronnie Cuber is on baritone as well... So it's just got to be great!!!
Dr. Lonnie Smith Live At Club Mozambique
A lost jazz-funk gem -- originally recorded at Club Mozambique in Detroit in 1970, but not issued by Blue Note until the mid 90s! The set's right up there with Lonnie's classic Move Your Hand live set -- as the tracks are long, free, and very funky, performed by a hip group that includes Joe Dukes on drums, Dave Hubbard on tenor, Ronnie Cuber on baritone, and George Benson on guitar. Lonnie's organ is harder than you'll ever hear it in later years -- and tracks include "Scream", "Expressions", "I Can't Stand It", "Peace Of Mind", "Love Bowl", and "Play It Back".

Dr. Lonnie Smith Boogaloo To Beck
From Dr. Lonnie Smith and his special guest David "Fathead" Newman, here we have a rather nice collection of jazz covers of songs by the pop genius that is Beck. I much prefer the Beck originals (they're far more exciting and "off the cuff") but fairplay to anyone who can cover his songs in a different and interesting way. Whatever, this is definitely a must-listen for fans of lounge, easy listening and jazz. If there was one truly great thing about this album, it would be the fact that it spans the many different eras and sounds of Beck, not just the popular hits.

Europe War of Kings
Europe Walk the Earth
Once again Europe tries to emulate the Last Look At Eden pompous sound; while on that record the tracks had variety of moods and themes. Here it just feel they try really hard to sound "epic", but the end result is dark and heavy in a bad way, i cannot find the mood to listen to this and I feel the band really lost sense of direction at Bag of Bones. It's their worst release from the post 2000's catalogue.

Worst release to date, it seems none of those songs can be a live performance favourite. No catchy chorus, no hooks of melodies. Bland and sterile as it gets. We're at the point that any b&s inspired band is putting out better material than the inspirational group. rPs* yes, girls in peacetime manages to be 3x better than its one
Caetano Veloso Araçá Azul
Camille Le Fil
Someone once tough the idea of having a single note (le fil) held the whole 70 minutes of this album was a good idea;I dare you to bear longer than 3 songs in a row of this atrocity. It sounds like a deffect at best, bad taste at least
