Nevermind, an album comprising of sludgy distorted guitars and stop-start dynamics attributed to bands like Pixies and Sonic Youth. First of all, the albums opener.. Smells Like Teen Spirit.. a cliched guitar riff and complete static irony in the song title itself.. this was the straw that broke the camels back where Alternative Rock was concerned.. Come As You Are was another stand-out song on the album, with chorus guitar effects and cryptic lyrics, this song is truly brilliant.. I'm so happy/'Cause today I found my friends/They're in my head Cobain croons in Lithium.. a song whose lyrics are based on suicide and loneliness.. with the typical loud-quiet dynamics of a typical Nirvana song, this is again a brilliant example of just how good Nirvana are. Something In The Way was another more thought provoking piece, with it's downcast guitar and slow drums, this was a very gentle and delicate climax to an album as great as this
