Considering the poor studio and sound conditions they had to work in while recording this EP, they did a pretty solid job. The sound definitely isn't the norm for most bands in this category and most bands can't pull off the more electric sound. Crown the Empire, however, makes it work in their debut EP. On a more negative note, the lead vocalist, Andy, has a rather pitchy or whiny voice in songs like Lead Me Out Of The Dark and Johnny Ringo. His unclean vocals are impressive though. Not saying that its one the best releases this year, but it will definitely get the band noticed in the future. They have certainly caught my attention. The title track, Limitless, is one of my favorites. They band managed to get he lead singer for the band Make Me Famous to go into the studio with them. It's a smart technique to bring in more fans. So lets see if they can keep it up and continue to gain publicity. Limitless, not a bad way to start a career. One Morning Left Our Sceneration3.0 goodAttack Attack! Someday Came SuddenlySomeday Came Suddenly is the debut album of the single most hated band in the scene. Call me crazy, but i actually really liked it. They knew just when to cut the synths and let the instruments take over in song like Party Foul and Stick Stickly. Most bands can't pull off the electric sound like these guys did. On a negative noted, the band could have dialed back on the autotune since the singer really does have a good voice. The unclean vocalist mainly does one type of scream and fails to vary it up. A screech-like yell is most of what you hear. There isn't a great balance of screaming and singing. Austin getting two whole tracks to himself and being dominant in the other ones. A really good band knows how to balance both clean and unclean vocals out equally. The band claims they invented their own genre, Crabcore, (really dumb name) when to me it just sounds like electronicore. Still, they succeed where a lot of bands like Design The Skyline and Abandon All Ships have failed. Overall, not a bad job at all by Attack Attack! Keep it up and we'll see how you follow this up.2.5 averageOceans Red Hold Your BreathMeh, started out strong then gradually got more boringReflections Exi(s)t2.0 poorMiss May I MonumentMiss May I had potential, but failed to deliver with this album. All the tracks sound almost exactly like the one before it. Even the vocals have little or no variation. The band continued to regurgitate the same cords, vocals and drum lines ten times over and called it an album. The only songs with a little variation are Relentless Chaos and In Recognition. Relentless Chaos has a little more clean vocal work and the unclean vocals aren't COMPLETELY dead. Also the breakdowns aren't the same as the other eight, give or take. In Recognition was a song performed only by the clean vocalist. His voice is different from the rest, but the only time he shows it is in this song. They often use the same breakdowns over and over. Breakdowns, which are supposed to be used sparingly, are way to abundant here. There are around two in a song and, if i said once i said it a million times, they all sound the same. If Miss May I must have a breakdown in every track, lets see if we can only get one. I suppose I'm being a little harsh since they could have done a lot worse, but this must be said. Maybe in their next album they won't re-use the same song with different lyrics.
