The songs are stronger, heavier and have been expertly mixed. The only reason I am not giving this album a perfect 5, is that I feel the interlude 'Devil Church' could have been longer, stretched out to the 2 minute mark perhaps - It just seemed slightly lacking. Having said that, songs such as 'He is', 'Majesty', 'Cirice' and 'Deus in Absentia' push this album on with spirit and make for an excellent 3rd record. Fallen in love with The Nexus and Electroheart. Hope to hear good things from their next album to be released this year! Personally I prefer the stripped down version 'Dethroned and Uncrowned' for some reason - I find it so enticing and beautiful. This album, however gave Katatonia a new marker in the world, this is one of their best achievements to date. But it makes up for that with brilliant ambient sounds. They have also expanded their vocals. This album seems more like a mix of songs from the five previous albums - and I'm fine with that. A couple songs that I just won't listen to (Exhale, An Ordinary Abnormality) so that's a shame.
