Don't expect the poppy, african-music-influenced, energetic and dancable songs found on the band's previous effort, "Reflektor". "Her" is a refined collection of heart-wrenching ballads. Any superior to "Reflektor"? No, different, but certainly at the same level of quality Arcade Fire constantly display with each move they make.At the Drive-In Relationship of CommandBjork PostBjork HomogenicBurial KindredBurial Truant/Rough SleeperCage The Elephant MelophobiaConverge Petitioning the Empty SkyConverge All We Love We Leave BehindDavid Bowie LowDeftones Saturday Night WristEmpire! The combo of first two songs "After December" and "Fall For You" doesn't deliver a first good impression and pale in comparison to "Chromatic"'s two-first-songs-combo "Over the Sun/Under the Water" and "Until December". No sign of the hyperactive, infeccious, indie-influenced and at times spazzic sound the band conveyed in their debut album is to be found in this effort. "Diffraction/Refraction" isn't by any means a bad album and it does have it's higlights, but it is a flawed album and a let down compared to it's predecessor.2.5 averageAC/DC Black IceAlter Bridge AB IIIAlter Bridge FortressAnimals As Leaders Animals as LeadersArctic Monkeys Favourite Worst NightmareArctic Monkeys HumbugAs I Lay Dying The Powerless RiseAvey Tare's Slasher Flicks Enter the Slasher HouseBeck Sea ChangeBetween the Buried and Me The Great MisdirectBlack Sabbath 13Bon Iver Bon Iver, Bon IverNot even half as honest and heartfelt as it's predecessor was.Brand New DaisyBring Me The Horizon SempiternalBurial Rival DealerCage The Elephant Thank You Happy BirthdayColdplay Ghost StoriesCrystal Castles Crystal CastlesDamon Albarn Everyday RobotsDarkthrone The Underground ResistanceDrake Nothing Was the SameDream Theater Images And Wordsdredg El CieloEminem The Marshall Mathers LP 2Fleet Foxes Fleet FoxesSun Giant EP and Helplessness Blues > this.
