5.0 classic
A Fine Frenzy One Cell in the Sea
Almost Lover and Near To You are such great songs.
Arcade Fire The Suburbs
Automatic Loveletter The Kids Will Take Their Monsters On
The Kids Will Take Their Monsters On is a lovely acoustic album that is driven by Juliet Simms' unique voice and solid guitar playing. Black Ink Revenge, Trade Places, and The Curtain Close are the standout songs for me.
Banks Goddess
Brand New Deja Entendu
Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
Chelsea Wolfe Pain Is Beauty
Daughter If You Leave
Ef Give Me Beauty... Or Give Me Death!
Ef I Am Responsible
This album is gorgeous from start to finish, and A tailpiece is one of my favorite songs across all music
genres.
Feist Pleasure
Fiona Apple When The Pawn...
Fiona Apple The Idler Wheel...
Joanna Newsom Have One on Me
Julien Baker Turn Out The Lights
Laura Marling Alas, I Cannot Swim
A brilliant debut from one of my favorite artists. I particularly enjoy "Your Only Doll (Dora)" and "Tap At My Window", and "(Interlude) Crawled Out Of The Sea" may be my favorite song under two minutes.
Laura Marling Once I Was an Eagle
A very well-crafted album that drove me to look into Laura Marling's discography. The "Take The Night Off/I
Was An Eagle/You Know/Breathe" suite is lovely and makes me wish more albums had such passages,
while the set of songs from "Master Hunter" to "Once" successfully takes "Once I Was An Eagle" in a different
direction. The instrumentation in the last third of the album is excellent, and "Saved These Words" is the
perfect ending track to an album that further confirms Marling's musical talent.
Lights Midnight Machines
Lorde Melodrama
Mono You Are There
A lovely album that combines soft, classical tones with loud dynamics incredibly well. The closer "Moonlight" is a perfect example.
Mono Hymn to the Immortal Wind
The album that sparked my love for MONO. Each track is well-composed, and the song transitions
(particularly between "Burial At Sea" and "Silent Flight, Sleeping Dawn") are lovely. "Ashes in the Snow" and
"Everlasting Light" deserve the praise they get, while "Silent Flight, Sleeping Dawn" and "The Battle To
Heaven" are the underrated classics on "Hymn to the Immortal Wind".
Mono Holy Ground: NYC Live
Phoebe Bridgers Stranger in the Alps
PJ Harvey Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea
PJ Harvey Let England Shake
Sara Bareilles Little Voice
Sara Bareilles Kaleidoscope Heart
St. Vincent Strange Mercy
Tegan and Sara So Jealous
Incredibly engaging each time I listen to it. I know a lot of people rate The Con as the best Tegan and Sara album, but So Jealous will always be my favorite.
There Will Be Fireworks The Dark, Dark Bright
Tori Amos Under the Pink
Tori Amos From the Choirgirl Hotel

Mono Walking Cloud and Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered and the Sun Shined
Mono One Step More and You Die
The only low points for me are "Mopish Morning, Halation Wiper" and "Giant Me on the Other Side", and
fortunately, they take up only 4.5 minutes of the album. "Sabbath" and "A Speeding Car" are absolutely
gorgeous.

Sara Bareilles Once Upon Another Time
An incredibly relaxing EP that fully showcases Bareilles' vocal abilities.
Sara Bareilles The Blessed Unrest
"Manhattan" is Sara Bareilles at her traditional best, while "Satellite Call" and "Islands" (my personal favorites off of this album) are incredible "synth pop" songs that help to distinguish "The Blessed Unrest" from Bareilles' previous work.
Sara Bareilles Brave Enough Live at the Variety

Godspeed You! Black Emperor Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
Maybe my rating is a little harsh, but after seeing the average rating, I was expecting 1.5 hours of truly amazing music. There are moments of brilliance throughout this album, but they are too infrequent for me to give "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven" a higher rating.

Kashiwa Daisuke Program Music I
So many of the superfluous electronic noises disrupt the gorgeous music that comes up throughout the album. "Enjoy Eternal Bliss" is not subjected to unnecessary sounds and still sounds incredible, which makes me think of how good "Program Music I" could have been. However, the electronic sounds do represent one of Daisuke's trademarks, and I can understand their purpose. I just don't think the classical music works well with the electronics in this album.

Not one standout moment for me. I just think I'm incapable of liking this sort of music, although I sort of understand its appeal. I don't find Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven particularly stimulating either, but it has its moments and is a much better album than F#A# (Infinity) is.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada
Six minutes of somewhat decent music out of a total 28 minutes. This reminds me of how I feel about "Palmless Prayer/Mass Murder Refrain", but the good moments on "Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada" fail to come even remotely close to the quality of Trailers 3 and 5 for me.
