Oh, that's right, if it doesn't contain a few songs from their earlier days it's not quite ufo! It's easily as good as walk on water.the first two songs are classic ufo,.mogg at his finest with excellent lyrics, personality, sentiment, as mikes guitar playing is tailored to a snug fit.this is actually one of ufo s best ever releases, period. And me? I was there in the mid 70's following closely ufo.I also don't think obsession was their best release either, in fact, wild willing etc was better , except the guitar playing, which wasn't all that needed, since the spotlight was more on storytelling & vocals, but that was another album! Covenant is an excellent CD.I think most of the later, newer fans don't really get this CD, could be a maturity issue, I don't know, or you just don't truly understand the roots of ufo, roots that aren't just tangled around classic songs like doctor, doctor, lights out and rock bottom.I think Phil and Michael would relate to my thoughts.I won't bother reviewing sharks...it's slightly less in raring than covenant , but has a few very good songs.I can actually still listen to it today.sharks and covenant are solid ufo releases that I'm proud of, so much better than past efforts with fill in guitar players.3.0 goodAccept Objection OverruledDeath row was a more solid release than this.Yes, this CD had its moments, but it has too many gaps in songs, most meant for the cliche 14 yr. Old headbanger.I also felt wolf's desire for classical was out of place on this release, maybe it was more for his ego and boredom with metal music in general.I can still play a few of these songs today, though udo' s voice is grating, hard on the ears mostly.overall, the mix and sound of the CD was also annoying, it wasn't anything you could just relax to. The CD overall still shows the band at the top of their game musically, it's tight and solid.2.5 averageUFO Making ContactThis is where many old school ufo fans jumped off the bus.Yes, it had the commercial ballad that charted, but the album basically stunk, a huge let down from wild,.willing, which I felt was a great release minus Michael.rI guess all the good ideas were all used up for this one.I think Phil even said that ideas, input from their guitarist was lacking.ufo seemed to literally dry up after this CD. It was beyond clear that Michael was gone,.and no-one now to fill his shoes. 2.0 poorUFO MechanixUFO UFO 1No clue how this got a decent rating. This was ufo with a very so-so guitar player.I also don't feel Phil had yet to find his true voice.the instrumental is interesting....and simple. The band is young, very limited, the album is a bit embarrassing to be honest and I'm an old school ufo fan.The only other good song was fecal? Ya know, the walk and talk backwards song... honestly, I can't recall the name, but it's different, and I like Phil's lyrics and the way he puts it all across, it's not a brilliant song by any means, a bit raw, silly, fantasy, why I liked it!
