There aren't any really goods songs like the EP had with Clocks and Taming Lions but the music
isn't bad, just very samey. Barely any songs use the clean vocals which were a low part of the EP
but when they are used they are in a lower register and sound more natural than before. The
vocalist has improved his range as well, often dipping into very low and powerful growls while
sticking to a high scream most of the time that sound almost like Dallas Taylor when he was in
Underoath. There are breakdowns. A sh*tload of them. The drums also sound exactly the same as the
EP, overproduced and incredibly artificial. There are a few tracks with some very odd choices that
either don't fit at all or are not expanded upon enough. One example is the bridge of the song
Floorboards, in which, a cowbell overpowers literally every other instrument, making it sound
ridiculous, however the shouted gang vocals later in the same song sound promising but the song
ends before they are fully utilized. This isn't a particularly catchy or technical album, just
kind of "meh" all around, definitely not as good as the EP.

| This album is weird. It has the hooks of REAL and some of the technicality of Deceiver. rThe production sounds muddy to me and they overuse techo and effects in a few songs, rmaking them sound like an Asking Alexandria rip off band sometimes. rStandout tracks: Dark Matter, Made This Way, Oxy, SelloutrBad Tracks: Dreamer, Face to Face, Insane |
