Bastro Diablo Guapo |
This is math rock from a time when the genre was just a blimp inside the head of a certain rock critics..bands like drive like jehu and don cabllero continued the norm..I always thought Bastro was always underappreciated of all of David Grubbs work cause this is more of a supergroup..members went onto play in groups like Tortoise,Gastr del sol, The sea and cake. |

Don Caballero What Burns Never Returns |
This Record Along with "Don Caballero 2" made Don caballero a juggernaut in the Math Rock scene of the 90's..Mike bandfield and Ian willaims exchange tasty licks with some very intricate drumming by Damon Che..a must have for any experimental and math rock fan. |

Gore Mean Man's Dream |
This is really, really good stuff. Legendary Dutch instrumental horror hardcore with a poetic twist. Originally released in 1987!! Should be of interest to hardcore, metal, sludge, noise rock, industrial and drone fans alike. All of the songs are completely instrumental, with interesting time changes and extremely raw, distorted guitars. Very original. People I played this to either loved it or hated it -- nothing in between. A lot like early Melvins, yet different..I heard Jon fine(bitch magnet) rave about them in his book our band sucks..their 80's output is untouchable..I hold Gore in the same regard as bands like Melvins, Swans, Flipper and Sonic youth.r |
