George Michael Listen Without Prejudice
As cliche as it might be for the eventual 5s to roll in for an artist who recently passed away, Listen
Without Prejudice is genuinely a classic pop album. George Michael fought tooth and nail to make the
"serious album" he wanted to make against the wishes of his label and damn it he succeeded beyond
all expectations. Listen Without Prejudice is delicately crafted with emotional ballads that strike a
perfect balance of over-indulgence and genuine emotion to really drive home Michael's frustrated

Jeff Rosenstock Worry.
There's nothing to worry about on Jeff Rosenstock's latest. Despite involvement in six entire full
fledged projects in a less-than 2 year time span, Rosenstock only further pushes his talents
to create the perfect encapsulation of the entire 20 year Jeff Rosenstock experience. Everything that
made his work amongst scattered demos, to ASOB, to BtMI, and finally his solo career of today
magical is present here; strewn about in an athematic ballad of middle aged displacement and fear.

Never a dull note nor moment, as Jeff tears his heart out going beyond the realm of just singing about
the permanent midlife-crisis hell he's been stuck in for a decade. Instead, Rosenstock's sights are
aimed at going straight to the source of it all. Its Jeff vs the world, not the other way around here,
which, when fully charged, results in Jeff's most focused work of his entire career.

Explosive, fun, depressing, happy, energetic, timid, and all together perfectly rounded love letter to
those who have spent years listening to Jeff develop as an artist for the perfect "all together now" of
songwriting. The Magnum Opus of Jeff Rosenstock.

This album is basically the record every mainstream alternative/hard rock band from Muse, to

approachable, radio-friendly format with a kick-ass electronic laced industrial sound that gives every
bit of this record the energy and fun these kinds of records lack so horribly.

Bruno Mars 24K Magic
Bruno Mars subverts all negative connotation associated with his name with one of the most straight rup energetic, fun, and over-the-top cheesy throwback records released all decade. Mars' level of self rawareness that his songwriting is incredibly dorky plays in perfectly with the vintage cheese the ralbum aesthetic pushes here. Production isn't grossly overproduced and instead is veryrgrounded despite the very cheesy narrative the album pushes. Stuffed with dorky lines and psuedo-rconfidence that succeeds thanks to the energy that Bruno gives each note. Ignore any and all rnegative opinions you have on Bruno's work and just indulge on one of the best pop records of the ryear. rSpin: 24k Magic, Chunky, Thats What I Like, Versace On The Floor, Calling All My Lovelies, Finesse, rToo Good To Say Goodbye

Clarence Clarity SAME
SAME is exactly what the title implies, a 5-track EP that plays the same track every time... or so it
appears. Each of the 5 tracks on SAME follow the same structure, yet each one subtlety changes
things up and becomes more frantic as the EP goes on. All of which leads into a top secret hidden
track you will have to search for yourself.

While interesting in concept, and while the song is stellar, it doesn't exactly make for the most
interesting of EPs, since you ARE essentially just listening to the same song five times. But who
knows, maybe there's more to SAME than just these five tracks and the
bonus, maybe theres an entire EP of new tracks hidden around begging to be discovered.

Scatterbrained and unfocused with what appears to be drafts of three different albums being forced

tracks, but the majority of this record is basic as shit and way too underdeveloped to justify all critical
praise to be inevitably thrown its way because Kendrick.

Nothing More The Stories We Tell Ourselves
The first half of the record is filled with a number of head scratching callbacks to nu-metal, and the
inherent cheesiness of a genre that's been dead for over a decade leads to some comedic moments
when the record pushes an attempt to be "hardcore". As for the second half, it mellows out, but its
absent of an emotional edge that you got with a song like "God Went North" on their previous record,
so many of the songs just kind of happen. As a whole, consistency, solid songwriting amongst even
the album's more embarrassing moments, and a handful of genuinely good tracks save this record
from being awful - but never does the energy feel as concise and tightly packed as their previous two
records and there is a disturbing lack of songwriting moments that demand you listen to this again.
Ultimately, there really isn't a reason to bother with this record.

At what point do you come to terms with the fact that you aren't the same band you share your namesake with? After their initial reformation in 2008, Dishwalla packed in a new ensemble of musicians including a new vocalist, bassist, and drummer; leaving only guitarist Rodney Cravens and keyboardist Jim Wood from the band's original line up.

As far as arguments in where the identity of a band rests, the strongest case favors J.R. Richards' and his ability to elevate otherwise generic radio-centric alt rock into something far more expansive and special with his breathtaking vocal prowess.

With his absence, and to a further extent, the absence of the other aforementioned members, Dishwalla are once more a bland alternative rock act who sounds lost and confused with how dated this record sounds despite being a 2017 release. Just boring and badly written.

Lindsey Stirling Brave Enough
Lindsey Stirling's entire career trajectory has been nothing but hasty scribbles on a notepad that
overlap and occasionally blot ink on the hand so haphazardly drawing them. Never has her violin
instrumentation felt all there with whatever genre is flavoring the stock beats provided by her
entourage of faceless produces, which in turn has forced her entire gimmick of "dubstep violin" to be
nothing more THAN a completely shallow gimmick. However, on previous efforts, there was always
some tracks that offered sanctuary from the flaws that plague Stirling's songwriting (a notable
example being Shatter Me) for some genuine moments of excitement and fun; yet on Brave Enough,
any and all protection against the label of "shallow gimmick" are gone.

Brave Enough is a messy record. Brave Enough is a shallow record. And worst of all, Brave Enough is
a boring record. All signs that show a lack of Stirling's grip on any resemblance of solid songwriting
can be found in the features selection. Which finds anyone from singer/songwriter Christina Perri to
Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo awkwardly trying to find footing to provide vocals for incredibly
mediocre house and dubstep tunes. Everyone involved in this project does the bare minimum to trend
hop on current styles in the dance scene such as future bass and tropic house - and the complete
lack of care for the production makes Stirling's violin playing even more apparently out of place. This
is just a horrible and painful slog to sit through and everyone involved should be ashamed. r

there is a disturbing amount of filler in this album that makes the overall message disjointed and ultimately sours
out the experience.
