No one captures and mixes genres quite like Kevin Rowland did in the late 70's /early 80s . Still as good as it sounded over 30 years ago this has Lp has more than stood up to the test of time. Standout tunes Geno and Burn it down are upbeat soul tunes mixed with Ska , very much of their time and captures the feeling of Thatchers Britain in the late 70's /early 80's. This is the work of a true believer and soul rebel....you couldn't teach someone to sound like this if you tried. A true classic, no record collection is complete without it. The The InfectedPure brilliance. Matt johnson's prophetic portrait of Britain in the mid 80's still sounds just as compelling today as it did in 1986. In my opinion Heartland is the standout but every song is a classic ...infected is a record that it is of it's time but still relevant and full of energy, creativity and above all superb tunes. 4.5 superbEcho and The Bunnymen CrocodilesPavement Crooked Rain, Crooked RainThe Fall This Nation's Saving Grace4.0 excellentDexys Midnight Runners Don't Stand Me Down (Director's Cut)3.5 greatKurt Vile Wakin on a Pretty DazeGood , solid peaceful album by Kurt Vile who seems to be finding his feet both as an artist and a song writer. No big surprises here, but you'll find a more polished production with some great melodies from a strong burgeoning song writing talent. Well recommended.
