Chuck Berry San Francisco Dues |
Creedence Clearwater Revival Mardi Gras |
Frank Zappa Thing-Fish |
John Lennon Wedding Album |
Lou Reed Rock and Roll Heart |
Miles Davis Amandla |
Ramones Halfway to Sanity |
A dazzling weak output by The Ramones, it represents that The Ramones were getting worse as the years went by with outdated, trashy pop-orientated wannabe Punk songs. The only thing to note here is the heavy guitar attack, but even that doesn't hit the missing target that this record missed by a country mile. |
Tangerine Dream Springtime In Nagasaki |
Tangerine Dream Summer In Nagasaki |
Tangerine Dream Autumn in Hiroshima |
Tangerine Dream The Island of the Fay |
The Beach Boys Keepin' the Summer Alive |
The Beach Boys 15 Big Ones |
The Beach Boys Still Cruisin' |
The Beatles Yellow Submarine |
It's inessential in the Beatles library, even for hardcore fans. What you'll hear is an outdated Skiffle, happy-go-lucky song written by the always kid-friendly Paul McCartney, a devilling Psychedelic Hey Bulldog and two fantastic George Harrison compositions, notably It's All Too Much, the overrated and overhyped title track and a complete second side of George Martin orchestrated compositions that are boring, whimsical and juvenile. |
The Kinks "Percy" |
The Kinks Preservation Act 2 |
The Kinks Soap Opera |
The Kinks UK Jive |
The Velvet Underground Squeeze |
There's nothing wrong with this record, musically speaking. But there's nothing right with it either. As they say, Velvet Underground by name. Doug Yule's heart might have been in the right place, it's none the wiser from John Cale or Lou Reed's solo albums at this point. But, rightfully so, it's rare and been buried in the catacombs of pop music history. It's an insult to what Lou Reed, John Cale, Maureen Tucker and Sterling Morrison started... And for that, there's nothing worth hearing here. |
