Belle and Sebastian Dear Catastrophe Waitress
Still enjoying this a year after my last comment. rIt's a great summer record, but has a cosy quality for winter listens too.rBeen spinning this with a cup of tea over the winter break and it's a damn fine album to come back to time and time again.
Black Sabbath Heaven And Hell

Coheed and Cambria The Afterman: Ascension

Really liking this too. Took way more listens to appreciate than Citadels/Self Titled EP, but ready rewarding once it
all clicked into place. There are some great melodies peppered throughout the album, but the guitars are a little too
quiet and feel buried underneath the vocals at times. Maybe because I've not listened with decent over-ear
headphones yet. So far this band has a solid discog, they'll always be just as polarising as Coheed due to the
vocalist. To some people's ears it just doesn't sound good, to mine and fans of the band though the guy's voice is
pretty impressive. Very, very high pitched (I wouldn't say whiny) at times though which takes a few listens to to
"get". Faves on this: Hypnos, The Lotus, Metatron, Violet Skies, Midnight Sun, Iron Hands....man they're all good.

The Living End Roll On
The Living End I Only Trust Rock n Roll
A much needed return to form for a band that's been running on fumes for over a decade. The solo on Roller blows anything since White Noise out of the water.rCheney has things to say on this release, and the record has grown on me tenfold since its release.rIt has enough bite, melody and catchiness to be a worthy addition to TLE discography.
Trivium In the Court of the Dragon
Wow this is actually good. I liked Sin but found WTDMS dreadfully boring. Sword and Crisis are my favourites so far.
Volbeat God of Angels Trust
Better than Servant, which I really enjoyed. They bounced back after the toothless Rewind,
Replay, Rebound and have put out back to back crackers. They're not everyone's cup of tea,
but they're entertaining and this was a fun listen.

3.5 great
36 Crazyfists Time and Trauma
Bumped up to a 3.5 for me, was much more of a grower than I expected it to be.rSurprisingly infectious, had parts of most of the album stuck in my head for the past couple of days.
Black Sabbath Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Protest the Hero Volition
The Killers Hot Fuss
Volbeat Servant of the Mind
Volbeat get shunned on Sputnik, but this is a nice bit fat slice of chugging rock and roll. rFor those who checked out with Outlaw Gentlemen... give this album a try and see what you rthink. Recommended tracks: Temple of Ekur, The Sacred Stones, Shotgun Blues, The Devil Rages rOn, Becoming, Lasses Birgitta.

3.0 good
96 Bitter Beings Synergy Restored
Black Sabbath 13
Coheed and Cambria Year of the Black Rainbow
Coheed and Cambria Vaxis I: The Unheavenly Creatures
Coheed and Cambria Vaxis II: A Window of the Waking Mind
Improving over it's predecessor, Vaxis II trims the fat and rises to the surface with a lean and varied record. Coheed always rshine when their records have "something for everyone" and this is no exception. Pop, metal, prog, dance, it's all here. rVaxis I was a slog to get through especially after the predictable Dark Sentencer and the screech to a halt that is Queen Of rThe Dark. This one has some stuff that may scare away modern fans, but if you're still listening to these guys it's time for rsomething different and this is it.
Ghost (SWE) Infestissumam
Ghost (SWE) Prequelle
Ghost (SWE) Phantomime
This is fun for what it is, a covers EP sandwiched between studio releases.
I never thought I'd see Ghost covering The Stranglers, and they nailed it with a thick bass
tone and a fun swagger.
Phantom of The Opera is done justice and it's nice to hear the track with different
production, it's absolutely not what I'd consider "better" but it's still good to hear Ghost
covering Maiden. Jesus He Knows me is indeed the best track on the EP, but all in all this
is an easy listen with its 5 tracks zooming by.
It's not top tier Ghost, and 'If You Have Ghost' is still their best covers EP, but it's
worth a listen despite the negativity (and no one bothering to write a review).
Ghost (SWE) Skeletá
Jinjer Wallflowers
Need a few more listens, but on my first play through I was a bit disappointed.
Full of great moments, slick production and excellent musicianship, yet nothing that I feel excited to go back to.
The scarcity of any real hooks along with its lack of variety keeps this from being the classic I know they still have
in them.

96 Bitter Beings Return To Hellview
Pointless. Adds nothing to the originals and pales in every way.
Fake drums, strained vocals and the very limited changes they made don't add to the songs
whatsoever. This band is a shambles.
