Blood Incantation Absolute Elsewhere
Death Symbolic
Disillusion Back to Times of Splendor
A Masterpiece of a Progressive Death Metal album, a damn near perfect album, Back to the Times of Splendor however is a perfect song.
Disillusion Ayam
IMO this is a worthy follow up to Back to Times of Splendor. This album flows better then Splendor but it needs to be reminded this is a completely different beast then Splendor. A fantastic album all the way through minus the last song being very meh. If it wasn't for the last song this would be a perfect. This is a huge contender for my AOTY. Even after multiple listens I keep coming back and getting songs stuck in my head. Hopefully this brings the band more recognition since they are already heavily underrated. rEdit: After COUNTLESS listens I am giving this a 5, all the songs just click and it is a damn near perfect album in pacing and gives the listeners everything they need.
Fallujah The Flesh Prevails
First time I have ever wanted to give a album a perfect score! This album is amazing and
exceeded my expectations. The solos gave me goosebumps and made my hairs stand up, while the
ambiance leaves a calm and relaxing feeling that haves me coming back for more. Do not
listen to the hipsters, it is not "overproduced" and sounds great. THIS ALBUM IS A GAME
CHANGER! CHECK IT OUT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
Ne Obliviscaris Portal of I
Ne Obliviscaris Exul
Best thing since Portal I, Misericorde I and II are just pure masterpieces.
Persefone Core

4.5 superb
After the Burial Rareform
After the Burial Rareform (Re-release)
Allegaeon Proponent for Sentience
Allegaeon Damnum
Amorphis Queen of Time
Anima Tempo Chaos Paradox
Fantastic album, this little band from Mexico mixes progressive metal with djent to give themselves a original sound! Very underrated band, deserve much more recognition, its a mix between that band (before they went scumbag) Corelia and Periphery but has lots of melodic sounds and complex instrumentals with keyboards that also has hints of Born of Osiris and Veil of Maya influence. However, the band is able to stand out and not just be another Djent band, these guys are going places, fantastic album and everything I wanted.
Animals As Leaders The Madness of Many
Between the Buried and Me Coma Ecliptic
While still holding their core sound, BTBAM experiment with making a rock album and it is
FANTASTIC! This is a much softer side but do not be fooled, we still get a ton of growls from the
great Tommy and is amazingly diverse singing. This is honestly the best BTBAM album I have heard.
The instruments sound great as always and there is still a ton of BTBAM signature wankery on the
instruments (dunno why people are saying there is not). BTBAM tried something new and it is
awesome, the songs all work and everything flows so well. This is a giant love letter to the prog
bands in the 70s while still maintaining the BTBAM core sound. Just don't expect this album to be
the heaviest thing. Lots of Dream Theater meets Mars Volta meets Yes meets Rush! Great album! Just
remember, this is NOT like their previous work. BTBAM said they wanted to try something different
and it worked very well! This is a superb album and probably one of, if not the best, Prog album
to come out this year!
Borknagar True North
Candiria While They Were Sleeping
The Innovators of sound are back with a combination of most of all their album sounds packed into
a new release! While those looking for the crazy vocals from 300 Percent, Beyond Reasonable Doubt,
and more of their older sounds from their old albums may be disappointed in the vocals but
Candiria still manages to try something new while holding onto their original groovy signature
style. This album is more similar to their album What Doesn't Kill You... with a fusion of
different elements they incorporated in their older albums before their accident.

While I miss the old Candiria sound, this newer album has everything from post hardcore, Jazz,
Experimental, punk, and more! It sounds like a more mature Candiria and it is a joy to listen to!
Candiria still has it even if they are not as heavy as their older albums in the 90s they still
get pretty heavy and this album shows these guys still have amazing music to bring us!

I recommend the album for anyone who loves progressive bands and highly recommend to check this
album out!
Carcass Swansong
Cattle Decapitation Terrasite
Not really a Deathgrind fan but this is such a good album! I love how the melodic nature makes this more then just a heavy album. This band is fantastic and this album SLAPS
Coheed and Cambria In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3
David Bowie Blackstar
Death Leprosy
Dethklok Dethalbum IV
This may be the best album Dethklok has created! Anyone giving this lower then a 3.5 is NUTS this is the best they have ever sounded, SOS and DEADFACE are AMAZING and some of the best songs the band has made! The songs hit EVEN HARDER in the feels if you watch the amazing 10/10 movie too! Horse of Fire is also worth mentioning, this is up there with Dethalbum II its so good! Nothing but bangers!
Extol Extol
Fallujah Empyrean
Amazing return to form for a band that has really
found their sound again. Into the Eventide has
such amazing guitar work! Fantastic album takes
the best of all their previous albums and mashes
it into 1 awesome album. The last song Artifacts
is just fantastic. Best album they put out in
years.
Gunship Gunship
Intronaut The Direction Of Last Things
This is easily the BEST album they have put out. Amazing, how they perfected their vocals while
still holding their original sound. The instruments are amazing and it feels more consistent
compared to some songs on Habitual Levitations (loved the album, but some songs just dragged).rIt
feels like an amazing mix of all previous albums while still being very original. rThis might even
be a 5 for me but I need a few more listens. Easily this is a 4 or higher. Overall this is a
AMAZING album!
Ne Obliviscaris Urn
3rd masterpiece from a extremely underrated band.
Ne Obliviscaris Citadel
Nekrogoblikon Stench
Obscura A Valediction
Obscura Diluvium
A technical masterpiece and probably my
favorite Obscura album.
Hard to name a favorite song when they all
kick so much ass.
"Mortification of the Vulgar Sun" and "An Epilogue to Infinity" is high up there
though

Edit: After wrestling with myself on the final review I went from a 4.5 to a 4 and now back to a
4.5. After repeated listens this is without a doubt my favorite Obscura album, I do not understand
why some of people were underwhelmed or bored, the technicality is simply amazing. This is a
fantastic album and one of my favorites of 2018.
Persefone Truth Inside the Shades (Re-Recorded)
Persefone Spiritual Migration
Persefone Aathma
Persefone Metanoia
Giving it a 4 for now but needs some more time to digest this monster! So far its a mix of all
rtheir albums when it comes to sound and its great, gets a little rocky on some parts but it feels
rvery mature as well. The instrumentals are fantastic as always just as you would expect from
rPersefone. Need some more time to go over this but for now its another fantastic release from
rPersefone. The 11 minute instrumental Consciousness pt 3 is also great. Last thing I will say I
radmire their ability to just slow down in the middle of the album, it gives off some Core vibes
rwhile sticking with that mature sound of Aathma.

Edit: Bumping this up to a 4.5 it is a fantastic album that mixes amazing instrumentals with
amazing atmosphere, the album is meant to be listened to from start to finish and it is a journey
to say the least. Another amazing release from Persefone.
Persefone Lingua Ignota: Part I
Excellent EP, such a amazing progression of sound for Persefone and makes you crave for a part 2!
Feels like the best of all previous albums here while still showing progression towards a more
focused and mature sound from when they started. New singer may feel a little awkward for old
school fans of Persefone but he grows on you and is a fantastic fit! I am eagerly awaiting part 2
and already am putting this EP on repeat!
Pestilence Consuming Impulse
Revocation Great Is Our Sin
Another AMAZING release from Revocation that continues to expand on their already very recognizable sound, while building off of it to move forward. Simply a fantastic album that is so goddamn fun!
Rivers of Nihil Where Owls Know My Name
Probably my favorite album of 2018, the Sax is spicy and fits the mood of the album and compliments the songs. The progressiveness of the song does not feel out of place and the guitar solos are awesome while the drums are on another level. One of the best metal albums I have heard in a long time.
Rush Clockwork Angels
SikTh Opacities
The Black Dahlia Murder Nightbringers
The Contortionist Language
Language rivals The Contortionist's old album Exoplanet and easily blows Insintric out of the
water, while still having you wanting to come back for more. Simply a spectacular treat for your
ears and the production value is top notch! The Cynic influences is strong and the album treads
the line between between being melodic, beautiful, and at times, very brutal. I may even change
this to a 5 since it is really starting to become one of my favorite albums of the year. Also if
you want Exoplanet, GO LISTEN TO EXOPLANET! This album is amazing on its own. Ebb and Flow is
probably one of the best songs these guys have done in awhile!
The Contortionist Exoplanet
The Expendables The Expendables
The Faceless Planetary Duality
Tool Fear Inoculum
Unto Others Never, Neverland
I love these guys, so creative and the album has a mix of new stuff, old stuff, slow and fast
songs. So many influences can be heard in this album from Suicidal Tendencies, Danzig, Paradise
Lost, Type O Negative and more! Unto Others releases another fantastic album to their already
superb collection with even more diverse range then their previous releases!

4.0 excellent
After the Burial Wolves Within
After the Burial Dig Deep
Wow this is amazing! They completely expanded upon the fun elements of "Wolves Within" and raised rtheir groove to 11! This album is fantastic and very fun from start to finish. Very impressive and rshows this band is not slowing down anytime soon! They continue to improve with each album and rthis is one of the best ones they have put out!
After the Burial Evergreen
Amorphis Under the Red Cloud
Anima Tempo Caged In Memories
Amazing album, Progressive metal at its finest! Their bounce between cleans and heavy vocals is exceptional and the guitar work is fantastic! Very underrated band with a bright future!
Astronoid Air
BABYMETAL Metal Resistance
Between the Buried and Me Automata II
Brendon Small Galaktikon
Burial in the Sky The Consumed Self
Candiria Process of Self-Development
These guys were WAYYYYYY ahead of their time! This makes BTBAM look tame! Amazing album that is very different but very good!
Carcass Surgical Steel
Cyborg Octopus Between the Light and Air
Great album! I like it better then their previous album, band is heavily underrated!
D.R.I. Thrash Zone
Dethklok The Doomstar Requiem
If you are watching the special with animation this is a solid 4.5 if not higher. As a stand alone album it is still incredible and very funny while still holding the brutal style of Dethklok. Favorite non-metal song on the album has to be "I Believe" and "How can I be a Hero?"rIts a great listen and honestly my favorite dethklok album.
Dethklok Metalocalypse Army of the Doomstar OST
Not going to lie for a Movie Soundtrack I LOVED it. I was very surprised it took a more epic and "movie" sounding approach but the Intrumetal of the Doctor Rockzo Cocaine song is some of the best guitar work Brendon Smalls has ever done! and the 2nd to last song is such a epic ending its worth those 2 alone. Album is not as heavy as a Dethklok album but its very epic and a amazing movie album!
DragonForce Extreme Power Metal
Metal elitists can suck nuts! 1st Dragonforce album I am pumped for, love the direction of sound
and cheesy 80s vibe. Will not be a perfect album but will be a fun one!

The Celine Dion cover is amazing.
Fallujah Dreamless
Have you all not heard the 2 songs they released? It sounds like they are bouncing off the sound rthey had in "The Flesh Prevails" but with more atmosphere like "Nomadic" I am predicting this is rgoing to be a 4 at least, so far I am in love with the 2 songs they released.
Garden of Shadows Oracle Moon
Gunship Dark All Day
Such a amazing album, the synth wave is perfected by this band. My only real complaint is the length is so long that it kind of makes the album drag since not ALL the songs are amazing. Do not get me wrong, this is a fantastic album but some of the experimentation can be hit or miss, but I still find my self coming back and putting MANY songs on repeat, they are THAT good.
Insomnium Winter's Gate
Insomnium Heart Like a Grave
Iwrestledabearonce Hail Mary
Judas Priest Firepower
This is close to Painkiller in quality, awesome album!
Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein Stranger Things, Volume One
Lich King Born of the Bomb
Megadeth Dystopia
Mors Principium Est Dawn of the 5th Era
Nekrogoblikon Welcome to Bonkers
Omnium Gatherum The Burning Cold
Periphery Periphery IV: Hail Stan
Persefone Shin-Ken
Pestilence Testimony of the Ancients
Powerflo Powerflo
First Metal/Rap band I have ever been able to listen to all the way through without cringing. Very
impressed with how this came out.
Revocation The Outer Ones
Rings of Saturn Lugal Ki En
Fantastic album and a huge step in the right direction after the praise they gained from Dingir.
The album can be a huge clusterfuck but the sweeps and solos are all there and Ian is in top notch
with his vocals! The album is just plain fun even if it can be tiresome to listen to as well as
chaotic at times, but it still a well nice follow up to Dingir, possibly exceeding it.

I gotta give it 9 out of 10 anal probes.
Scar Symmetry Holographic Universe
Scar Symmetry The Singularity - Phase I: Neohumanity
Shylmagoghnar Emergence
Fantastic album! Not a fan of black metal usually but combination of Progressive and Melodic Death Metal is just out of this world catchy! Great riffs and very well made album!
Testament Brotherhood of the Snake
The Chain Gang Of 1974 Wayward Fire
A great album that has a 80s feel to it while still maintaining a modern sound.
The Chasm Farseeing the Paranormal Abysm
The Chasm The Spell of Retribution
The Expendables Sand In The Sky
The Expendables Open Container
The Expendables Prove It
The Expendables Gettin' Filthy
The Faceless Autotheism
The Zenith Passage Solipsist
Toothgrinder Schizophrenic Jubilee
Take some BTBAM, Revocation, DEP, Periphery and MUCH MORE! Much like BTBAM these guys are constantly changing things up and in the best way! They have their own sound and each song has a different feel. I do wish the album was longer but it is still an album worth checking out!
Toothgrinder Nocturnal Masquerade
Album is great and very diverse! Has lots of progressive and hardcore elements and is catchy as hell! Toothgrinder proves that they can expand upon their previous work while still keeping their original sound. This is not a perfect album but it is very good and worth a listen!
Trivium The Sin and the Sentence
Twilight Force Tales of Ancient Prophecies
Veil of Maya Matriarch
Vestascension Breaching the Sound
While She Sleeps You Are We

3.5 great
Abiotic Casuistry
Arch Enemy Will to Power
Astronoid Astronoid
BABYMETAL BABYMETAL
Born of Osiris The Simulation
Unironically this is the best album to come out since The Discovery (but not better). This has a rgreat mix of their classic sound from their first album mixed with elements of The Discovery and rtheir other albums. The 2nd song, Disconnectome, is better then the entire last 2 albums.
Light the Torch They Bleed Red
Metallica Hardwired...To Self-Destruct
Primus Primus and The Chocolate Factory With The Fungi Ensemble
Sabaton The Last Stand
Savlonic Red
SikTh The Future In Whose Eyes?
Good album but they are playing it WAY too safe. Vocals are terrific but they need to embrace more of their old sound. Not a terrible album but it is disappointing when compared to their older stuff.
Textures Phenotype
Great album! Takes the best of Duelism and the older albums and really mixes it well! It can get a little convoluted sometimes but it is a great album!
The Contortionist Intrinsic

3.0 good
Born of Osiris Tomorrow We Die Alive
The 2 singles they released are indeed very generic and makes me question why they chose to rrelease those 2 songs to promote the album but do not be fooled, this is a good album. While rit is no where near the level of The Discovery, it is still a great album on it's own with rsome really good songs. The song "Illusionist" is an example of a good song on the album rthat also has a Within The Ruins "feel" to it. If they had another guitarist to include more rsolos I would of given this a 4.
Butcher Babies Goliath
It isn't that bad but it could be better. "I Smell A Massacre" is a great song and example of what they are capable of but some of the other songs fall flat.

2.0 poor
Spiritbox Rotoscope
LOVED Eternal Blue but this sucked hard. Almost fell asleep, hope this was just experimenting and not a new direction....
While She Sleeps So What?
This is like how All That Remains went from making The Fall of Ideals to shitty radio rock, its
THAT BAD! Plus their lyrics are so cheesy and laughable at times. Gonna be a yikes for me dawg
