Although I would say it's more ambient in a style of Wolves in the Throne Room or even the song 793 from Enslaved's Eld release (Viking metalish in a way) than something like Xasthur or Paysage d'Hiver. I think the only people who could rate this poorly are ones who already don't like this style of BM. It's extremely atmospheric and there are practically no vocals throughout the whole thing - lots of killer riffs however. Give it a full listen, most likely will really dig it. 4.5 superbAsh Borer Ash BorerAsh Borer Tour Rehearsal DemoAsh Borer 2009 DemoAsh Borer BloodlandsAsh Borer continues in their style of long songs, minimal vocals, and varied speeds with multiple change-ups throughout both songs. One of their best releases so far, if not the best - both songs are epic. Truly becoming one of the best BM acts out right now.Blut Aus Nord 777 - CosmosophyPersonally I found this final part of the 777 trilogy the best, even though I wasn't a fan of the clean vocals at times. Musically it was the most interesting and had the most tracks that grabbed me. Seemed a lot of professional reviews thought Sects was the best but I go with this one.Devin Townsend Ziltoid the OmniscientWhat a moron the guy who wrote the original 1.0 review for this, and the mindless sheep that followed immediately afterward all jumping on the "yeah it sucks so bad!" bandwagon. So ridiculously good this release and different. I typically listen to black metal but I can't help but love this shit.Fell Voices Fell Voices4.0 excellentAsh Borer Cold of AgesBlut Aus Nord Memoria Vetusta III - Saturnian PoetryFauna The Hunt2.5 averageAddaura AddauraAverage at best, not sure what everyone is raving about with this band. Vocalist is one of the worst I've heard for this sub-genre of black metal - just doesn't fit with the sound whatsoever.Fell Voices Regnum SaturniDisappointing release in my opinion. So far I think it's my least favorite work by Fell and at times just feels uninspired and uninteresting - especially the first song. Things pick up a bit after the 1st song boredom but it's still a lot less interesting than their other work I think.
