This should've been their comeback album instead of Dark before Dawn. Much more consistent, better hooks, and Ben makes more and better uses of his harsh vocals while showing he's still a damn good singer in what is quite possibly their heaviest album. It's up there with Phobia and We Are Not Alone for me.

2.5 average
Algiers The Underside of Power
In short:

Music is mostly awesome

Lyrics are mostly cringy as hell.

Balances out to a pretty even 2.5, probably at around a 2.7, as the music is that good. It almost
makes up for the lyrics.

Pretend that you're far left and Trump is literally Hitler for maximum enjoyment.

Am I the only one who prefers Midheaven over this? At least that had some enjoyable songs, despite the spoken vocals and ballads trying to ruin it. This, aside from the title track, is just a boring, energetic-less waste of time. The new vocalist is a great with the harsh vocals, but his cleans are so weak, which explains why I like the title track to most. A.J. decide to do two things: wanky and chugging. The other guys are alright, but nothing spectacular. The album is just so boring, aside from some brief, fleeting moments of enjoyment such as the "their eyes!" part of Antebellum. Waste of talent.
Uneven Structure Februus
I have no idea why I don't like this. On paper, I should love the fucking shit out of this, but I don't for some odd reason. Something about it just feels... off. Will give more listens to try and like it.

Born of Osiris The Discovery
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Translation: Album is fucking boring and lacking some serious songwriting. Keyboard never meshes well with the other instruments and comes off cliche. It's just a trainwreck. A boring one, but still a trainwreck.

Falling in Reverse Fashionably Late
To be fair, the musicians do know there way around their instrument and hold some interest and Radke is a decent vocalist. Not great, but decent. However, all compliments I have to immediately take back once I hear the lyrics. They suck hard. It doesn't help that the album has MPD, wildly switching genres without a way to connect it all together. It's just comes across as a bit of a haphazard mess.
