Probably my favorite jazz-fusion-y album of all time. Pure musical bliss. I?d say the only weak portion are the two seemingly brief and out of place djenty cuts near the beginning. Albums flows smooth as butter after that

Kinda continues the 'heavier coma ecliptic' sound like 1 did, but way more experimental and definitely a lot of unpredictable
moments. Very much where Id hoped the sound would go after the cliffhanger of 1. Listening to both albums together is
going to be sick

Edit: however nothing about this merited the secondary release. It isn't the biggest deal (just make a playlist with both
albums together) but it just messes with the expectations that might come with 2 separate releases
Between the Buried and Me Colors [2020 Remix / Remaster]
Wow this actually alleviates a lot of my frustrations with the original album?s sound. Less muddiness, better clarity, superb panning job, more crushing sound and better overall presence. I even made out a couple layers in the mix that I never noticed in the OG album

Craig Wedren Wand
A strange, quirky, experimental, and diverse release from Shudder To Think's frontman Craig Wedren.
There is a variety of short and sweet tracks that may come off as incomplete ideas, but are just as
easily gratifying and engaging and thus benefit greatly from their brevity. The flow that this album
creates through it's odd collection of pieces seems to throw the listener down a rabbit hole of Craig
Wedren's mind. Sonically, it ranges from ambient ballads to pop indulgences to heavy rockers.
Definitely an overlooked mini "masterpiece," though I could only see it being enjoyed by some.

Caught the livestream of this, and Leprous continues to be one of the most consistent rbands out there while keeping their sound fresh and forward thinking. As per their last rcouple of albums, if you're looking for The Congregation or Bilateral pt. 2, then look relsewhere. This is just some chaps making excellent music in their now trademark chamber-rprog-rock game, albeit a little less focused than what we've come to expect.

Motoi Sakuraba and Yuka Kitamura Dark Souls III OST
This OST is certainly well-written and composed, and undeniably epic while playing the game.
But I have to echo Billy's sentiment by challenging any fan of this OST to even hum a single
melody from this soundtrack. Not that catchy melodies are everything when judging an OST,
but think about DS1 bosses like Sif, Gwyn, Gaping Dragon, and how defined they are by their
eponymous tracks and melodies. There's SO much character in those boss themes. Now, try to
think about what "defines" Vordt's theme versus Demon Princes from a characterization
perspective. rTLDR; good while it's on but forgettable

Blackfield For The Music
Actually a nicely produced, sweet and heartfelt alt-pop album, given how far
removed it is from Blackfield's origins. Aviv's awkward lyrics and delivery remain a
constant hinderance from something greater, and there are a couple questionable moments
for sure (what is that autotune on Aviv's voice? jesus), but they never overstay their
welcome before some nice orchestral flutters and surprising chord changes save the day.

People complaining about the amount of soft songs vs. heavy songs should just take the album for what it is. This is just after one listen, but it works like a movie, a STORY, with ups and downs, buildups, climaxes, cooldowns, and development that can develop over songs, over the course of the album. It's such a rewarding experience.

Guilty pleasure of the year. Great production saves some awful vocal moments and cringe
delivery/lyrics, but doesn't quite make up for it. Mera Mera and Let's End The World are
pretty great.

Roger Waters The Dark Side of the Moon Redux
If you're going to attempt such a bodacious endeavor as redux-ing perhaps the most "classic" rock album of all time, at least make it interesting. What does this add to the Pink Floyd canon, or the music-sphere in general? Next to nothing, although the instrumentals are quite pristine for all of 5-10 minutes... before you hear the exact same palette song after song.
