5.0 classic
Deerhunter Microcastle
Guided by Voices Bee Thousand
This is the everyman's pop album. It proves that you don't have to have a large budget, RCA, and Quincy Jones to make quality pop music. It's like getting a girlfriend, just be yourself and the perfect one will come along.
The Beach Boys Pet Sounds
The Strokes Is This It

4.5 superb
Arctic Monkeys Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
This is a personal favorite of mine and I can understand why others wouldn't rate it as a classic album, but to me it is. Its very nostalgic for me and helped me find other music.

Julia Brown to be close to you
Probably one of the best, if not the best, pop albums released this year. Sam Ray knows how to write good songs and brings a breath of fresh air to lo-fi pop music.

Radiohead Amnesiac
It's not that Amnesiac is really that bad, its just that its boring and has nothing to prove or say. Its not even that I want it to be consistent or make some statement or provoke an emotion or a certain nostalgia (though it would be nice) I just want it to sound pleasing and shower me with nice melodies, and I just don't feel it.
Radiohead Hail to the Thief

2.0 poor
Brand New Deja Entendu
As much as I enjoy TDAGARIM, Deja Entendu is lacking in areas. The lyrics are just too cheesy for me, and sometimes his voice sounds like he is trying too hard to be having emotional problems. And this is coming from someone who respects Jesse Lacy.
Coldplay X&Y
Interpol Interpol
Muse Origin of Symmetry
My Chemical Romance Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
Photek The Hidden Camera
Sonic Youth Sister
The Cure Three Imaginary Boys

1.5 very poor
Bright Eyes Fevers & Mirrors
I don't mind the lo-fi acoustic part, its just that Conor Oberst is trying too hard to describe and convey emotions that aren't real.

1.0 awful
