  • Atari I don't care how country it is as long as the songwriting is good. I know what you mean, it's definitely rock n roll at heart. kinda like the Stones "country" stuff ;)

  • Atari drive-by truckers are ****ing amazing. I like what the different songwriters bring to the table, makes for a great variety. already figured I'd like the Isbell songs but wasn't expecting to like the other ones so much too!

  • DoofusWainwright If you can get over the vocals I think the guitar work might just grab you. Lyrics are real interesting too, political without being too 'stock rant'. The new Beach House...I'm happier with it sitting on a 4 for now lol, I thought I detected two or three classic tunes on the first spin. Erm, I really like 'Woo'...in fact the last three songs are some of the best.

  • DoofusWainwright Don't sweat your next move too much yet, try and enjoy the stage you're in, that's a big thing for me - I used to be awful with always worrying about the next step or life stage. Main thing is you're succeeding in your studies and walk away with something worth having/you're proud of. The path you end up taking will probably surprise you, but your achievements are your achievements, they're worth something in and of themselves. That's your pep talk :D Just pleased it's all going well.

  • DoofusWainwright Ha, don't apologise about having initial strong contrary opinions - I do that a lot as you know! The Beach House is an optimistic early 4.5 - it's definitely really good that's all I'm sure of, a 4 down the line wouldn't be a massive surprise. Second listen now and there's such a warm tone to it, almost reminds me of this band Emeralds at time. It's good you have the radio program, that sounds like the sort of thing I should have got into when I was studying (long ago!)
