Ben Kweller's eponymous third album is another dynamic effort from one of today?s best songwriters. Kweller?s talent as a performer shines on this album, as he performs all of the instruments, from the guitar solos down to the hand claps. As a songwriter, Ben Kweller shows development and maturity, while retaining the enthusiasm and optimism that makes his music instantly loveable. While Kweller?s talent as a songwriter shines throughout the album, songs such as ?Thirteen? and ?Sundress? can be almost painfully beautiful. Other stand outs include the irrepressibly catchy ?Penny On The Train Track? and ?Run,?demonstrating a gift for melody har		5.0

Ben Kweller On My Way
On My Way is Ben Kweller?s sophomore release, and definitely shows that Kweller is on his way. On My Way was recorded almost entirely live with the band in the studio, in contrast to the polished over dubbed style of Sha Sha, and it shows in the raw style of songs that permeate the album. The hard rocking songs are more so than those on Sha Sha, and ?The Rules? in particular is an energetic romp which gives the listener an urge to fully rock out. When it comes to touching guitar ballads, ?On My Way? is the ?Lizzy? of this album, and as far as piano ballads, ?Different But The Same? and ?Living Life? are each gems. Overall, all of the songs on		4.5

Ben Kweller Sha Sha
Sha Sha is Ben Kweller?s full length debut on ATO Records, and demonstrates the subtle skill and talent that Kweller has for songwriting. In between tossing off clever lyrics (take a listen to the opening track ?How It Should Be (Sha Sha)?), irresistible melodies (?Wasted and Ready,??Falling?) and touching ballads (?In Other Words,? ?Lizzy?), Kweller gives us a real self portrait that seems very hard not to like. Overall, Sha Sha shows a true artist and a talent who doesn?t receive nearly the attention he deserves.		5.0
