Coal Chamber Coal Chamber Coal Chamber were in the first wave of angst fueled alternative metal acts of the late 90s. This is one of the first nu metal albums, being released on February 11th 1997. This album starts with the menacing and insane "Loco". This is the song the band is most known for, and for good reason. It is a great performance that encompasses the bands sound. Down tuned few note guitar riffs, low slap bass, pounding snares, and frontman Dez Fafara's maniacal screaming and shouting vocals.
