Zac Brown Band
Uncaged
Crooning ballads, bluesy guitar soles and driving bass lines presents a well developed release. Hints of New
Orleans grooves and reggae jams add an interesting twist to the country twang traditionally seen from the
band, leaving the listener intrigued and mesmerized by the entire album. The passion and dedication that
went into the creation of the album is evident, and a full run through will not disappoint. Closer looks at
'Uncaged' and 'Natural Disaster' will leave haunting yet beautiful lyrics swirling in your mind for days to come.

Dirty Heads
Cabin By The Sea
The biggest issue with this album is the focus of the lyrics. To say that the alt-reggae band loves to smoke and have a good time is well understood once the entire album is played start to finish, which may take away from the beautiful compositions that are littered throughout. r

Yellow Ostrich
Strange Land
Alex Schaaf has finally impressed me. After his hiatus from the Chair's, I have been waiting for his next big
move. While 'The Mistress' had it's strengths, it lacked the finer details to be considered a well established
record in the music community. But 'Strange Land' has everything that the man needs to take over the scene.
After browsing through Marathon Runner, an instant hit, and Elephant King, I've fallen for the intricate sound
and catchy jams.

Twin Shadow
Confess
Twin Shadow is easily labeled a cult classic. His whispers are not for the casual listener, and the first pass is not always catching. You could define the sound as background filler, but George Lewis Jr. is so much more than that. Mood definitely drives his sound, but the emotion emitted from this album is something that was not seen on the debut 2010 album Forget. 'Run My Heart' leaves the listener disheartened, but the build up that follows will leave anyone satisfied with their purchase. r

Of Monsters and Men
My Head is an Animal
This band is amazing. The album is packed with delicate sounds, clever lyrics, and interesting duets, providing the perfect soundtrack for a summertime soiree. However, they are even better live. Before anyone decides that OFMM is cliche or overrated, they need to attend a live show and see the chemistry between members. Casual fans become avid followers, and many simply fall in love with the two lead singers, Ragnar and Brynjar. The band played an amazing set when I saw them back in March, and I look foreword to everything they will offer in the future. r
