Trivium
What the Dead Men Say
Anyone expecting this to be as great as Shogun is going to be disappointed. However this album is still worth a listen. The riffs are catchy and the songwriting in general is appealing. I wouldn't call it a technical masterpiece but it really doesn't need to be. What The Dead Men Say a fun album to listen to, which is more than I can say for a lot of Trivium's previous output.

It's not bad. You won't hate yourself for listening to this. However this album isn't nearly as fun and catchy as In Control and The Quiet Resistance were. Nothing in this album is really groundbreaking. Chances are you'll listen to this, get a sense of deja vu and think "oh hey this song is just like X, except X did it much better."

All That Remains
Victim of the New Disease
Better than a lot of their previous output but still nothing stellar. It suffers from a lot of the issues previous ATR albums have (godawful lyrics, overproduction, some downright boring tracks) but unlike their other albums this is not a chore to get through. In fact there were songs that were actually *gasp* entertaining to listen to (Fuck Love in particular surprised me).

Voluptuous Worship of Rapture and Response
The Poor and Ridiculous Alchemy of Christ and Lucifer and Us All is just fun to listen to.
