In theory, I should love this album, but in execution I think the band just isn't playing to their strengths on this one, and while I appreciate them making music based on what clearly inspired them to create music in the first place, it just doesn't translate into a strong project. | 3.0

Megadeth release a final album that reads more like definitive evidence that Dave Mustaine's
creative engine has been absolutely exhausted.
It's entirely clear to me that this was not, in fact, a farewell record created to reward
longtime fans of the band, but that somewhere in the writing process, Dave realized he had
absolutely nothing left to give his audience that felt interesting, challenging or even
nuanced, and so he decided to create some finality around the album in an effort to save the
band from being some zombie walking, mainstream music institution like so many other bands | 2.0

 | DePlazz Thanks man, it's nice to know we're on the same wavelength on this one. Thrash as a genre has gone stale for sure but it's good to see it get a boost from time to time by crossover death/blackened/sci-fi efforts such as these, and to keep people listening. Peace m/
