  • AnimalsAsSummit basically anything that even gets close to that kind of liquid drum n bass tinged stereolab-esque faux bossa-nova space lounge feel, im probably going to love if its done right. the things I live for.

  • AnimalsAsSummit See there I disagree Sakamoto retains vibrant harmony in his albums that would be seen as giving in to a trend (detractors say this of Beauty, Sweet Revenge, Smoochy). Although stylistically shifting, each style Sakamoto chooses ends up being imbued with his unique sense of harmony and ambience. Immense atmosphere in those albums, and gorgeous developments. I can hardly say the same for most of Bowie's work overall. And at Bowie's trendiest, it is many leagues below Sakamoto's artistry.

  • AnimalsAsSummit except I've already listened to 85% of his discog ;) but i'm sure there's more to uncover, so feel free to educate. but it may be a difference of taste. for instance, I find sweet revenge far, far more enjoyable than 1996.

  • DoofDoof I guess it just shows some bands move with the times but I liked the direction of that album, I'll give it another go and try 'In Camera' after too - probably next week as I prioritise new releases on Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
