To be honest I've always found Queensryche debut The Warning very immature and badly produced however I'm changing my opinion everytime I listen to En Force, the title track, Deliverance, No Sanctuary and specially Take Hold of the Flame. Their best music is yet to come but their debut also deserves to be on any decent playlist.

Their first real album is not as good as their first EP or Rage, but it has a couple of good tracks on it.

Alright album with hints of the prog-masterpiece that Mindcrime would be. Is hele back by very weak production and some sappy ballads.

The band was clearly aiming to create songs that transcended the usual heavy metal cliches and forge their own distinct identity.
They've clearly accomplished that here, but also seem to be balancing their progressive yearnings with enough old school heavy metal
riffing to keep their older fans content. "Warning", "Deliverance" and the computer age paranoia of "NM 156" deliver the sort of
heavier fare that fans of their first EP would probably most enjoy. An ambitious and nearly excellent record, but just a little
too self-important for its own good. Still, quite enjoyable.

The band's first full-length delivers on the debut's promise. Loud, fast and aggresive, you can definitely taste the Judas Priest and Iron Maiden influences on this. "NM 156" is the standout in my view, but this album is consistent as a whole. The band would change their sound on the next release, so this album is also special in being their last "metal up your butt" release. It's also my 2nd favorite by these guys.rPersonal Rating: 4.9
