Improving upon the mediocre and uninspired Dark Matter Dimensions isn't exactly the challenge of a lifetime, but at the very least, The Unseen Empire shows the band putting out some legitimate effort. It's still a mostly unremarkable album, save for occasionally brief moments that shine (and a stellar opener), but even this gives it some fun merit to keep.

it's definitely a suitable record for scar symmetry, even if they are too much trying to copy their older sound. The Unseen Empire stands above their latest effort Dark Matter Dimensions, but does ultimately not reach the quality of Aelvestam-material (their first three records).
something between a 3 and a 3.5 for me.

I swear to you, this is Scar's best album yet. Vast improvement from DMD, especially the vocals, which surpassed Christian's vocals in my opinion.
