Despite a new vocalist, Sylosis do nothing new on Edge Of The Earth and while that may sound like an insult at first, what could they possible change from their spectacular brand of modern thrash metal? Right from their debut EP Casting Shadows, Sylosis have brought their A-game every single time with the riffs, the blasts, the growls, and the solos. Edge Of The Earth is simply another no frills thrash record that is, well, pardon my French, heavy as fuck.

Sylosis have crafted what is an excellent piece of modern thrash metal here, possessing an instrumental section that is almost flawless to listen to. The album does, however, run for 70+ minutes - way longer than it should, and the vocals occasionally come off as weak in comparison to the rest of the band. With a few minor tweaks, these guys will be putting out a classic in the near future - no doubt. Heads up for a new album in the works....Safe!

Sylosis takes a small step back in vocals but a big step forwards in everything else. Excellent album, I'll be listening to this for the rest of the year.

Don't give a fuck about whether or not these guys conform with a "type." They're Sylosis and this album makes me happy. Tracks 2 - 3 are kind of filler for me. Really dig the dreamy sound of "A Serpent's Tongue", "Where the Sky Ends" and "From the Edge of the Earth" which only serve to emphasis the harder tracks like "Dystopia", "Apparitions" (hello Metallica), and "Eclipsed." Like this album much more than higher rated "Conclusion of an Age." You can definitely recognize influences in the different sounds of many of their tracks, but they make them their own.

A modern thrash metal record that isn't terrible, but goes on far too long and has too little variation between songs. Great performances, but the songwriting is one-note.

Amazing album. Everything sounds hugely epic. Sylosis are quickly becoming one of my favourites. Maybe some day soon they'll crack the top 10 -they have that much talent and potential.

Sylosis is one of my favorite bands of all time, and they definitely didnt dissapoint me with Edge of the Earth. This CD is amazing! Their sound kinda reminds me of a mix between All That Remains screamed vocals from their second CD, and Triviums great thrash guitar work mixed with a hint of death metal. That makes an awesome combination trust me! I recommend this CD to everyone.
