Could have been better if it not for "life stinks, woe is me" vibe of the last three songs. Still a step in the right direction after the so-so Anthems for the Damned.

Richard Patrick grabbed this golden formula of heavy riffs and soft choruses and kept it throughout the album. A mixture of the band's early albums' sound make this effort a great listen.
