3.0 good | FrozenFirebug | April 11th 24 | Massive downgrade to Alien & Obsidian's sound. Horrid vocal production that accentuates every coarse annoying nuance of Marcus' voice, but none of its actual nice qualities. Cheap electronics that sit in the background running on autopilot, while the foreground chugs away even more brainlessly than on Discoveries, as opposed to high quality electronics that bolster every djun djun note to create something actually unique instead of tired. Entire thing sounds like a 128kbps Youtube rip of some random band that recruited Northlane's frontman for a jam session and paid him in 48 bottles of piss cheap lager which he drank in 12 minutes prior to recording. Afterimage is pretty good. Dante's chorus is alright. Band has proven they're more than capable of self production so I have no idea why they hired some guy to make them sound worse in every conceivable way. Not terrible but pisses me off.

5.0 classic | pathologicalcoma77 | April 13th 24 | This is better than Obsidian, and on par with Alien, but more evolved. rThese guys talking about the poor production are just hating. This EP sounds fantastic, and I'm real big on sound. Northlane aren't about to drop the ball in that regard, anyway.

4.0 excellent | Jared Wegenast | April 13th 24 | My general feeling is folks are too quick to speak re: Northlane, similar to Architects fans -- there's definitely some of us that are in the Venn of both. Production is different, not better than Alien/Obsidian, but not that markedly poor. Songwriting is as good as ever and the arrangements are interesting and go to places I was not expecting which is super cool.

3.5 great | iamSeraph | April 21st 24 | Interesting experiment that equally excels in what it wants to achieve as that it fails. While Miasma is laughably bad and I couldn't care less about Let Me Disappear, Kraft and Dante on the other end of the spectrum are straight up amazing. Afterimage is a track I very much enjoy and that flows exactly in the middle of these two poles for me. Therefore, I can enjoy this for what it is - a fun little collection of ideas, a musical brainfart of sorts, where not every idea has been fully developed before recording it. Now let's make another album and show us if you're capable of greatness again, my fellow Aussies.

4.0 excellent | ajcollins15 | April 18th 24 | The latest EP from the long-standing Australian-based metalcore band sees them delving deeper into their djenty alternative metal and nu metal trajectory, which they've been carving out over their last two albums. "Mirror's Edge" exemplifies a band hitting the pinnacle of their creative journey. With intense and memorable djent guitars that pulse with energy, accompanied by soaring vocals and clever incorporation of electronic elements, the EP showcases the band's evolution and growth. It's truly exciting to witness the band's ongoing expansion of their sound, as they continue to push boundaries and explore new territories within the metalcore genre.

3.0 good | Defmytones | April 14th 24 | A step above Obsidian, but feels like a collection of B-Sides to their best outing with Marcus that is Alien.

2.5 average | MantisTobogganMD | April 12th 24 | If there is a good song here, you'd be hard
pressed to find it in what might be the
worst produced album I've heard in recent
times. I don't even want to rate this
because it's almost un-listenable. Truly
terrible. They should just go
back to self produced cause Alien and
Obsidian sound fantastic.

4.0 excellent | connormartini | April 12th 24 | I reallyyy dig this. New producer definitely pushed the electronics to mixed results depending on the song (Let Me Disappear felt like sonic overload) but I find it super fun to listen to, especially as an EP. Kraft and Dante are a great closer combo
